Dan Berkson & James What already received loads of respect, plays and big ups for their Poker Flat debut 12" The Dig. On this 3-tracker, Dan & James continue searching for unusual sounds while keeping a musical and organic vibe. While each track explores fresh sonic territory, they also focus on the dancefloor. The A-side is named after the intergalactic tavern where everyone's favorite space heroes meet for the first time. On B1, Dan & James return to their roots as circus performers, while "Last Train" is a tripped-out nocturnal adventure into deeper house sounds on B2.

"Dan Berkson & James What are a newly-formed London based production and live performance duo. hey are now putting together a unique live PA featuring their own tracks mixed and reworked on laptops along with live synths. 'The Dig' is their debut release on Poker Flat, on which they wanted to achieve an organic-sounding record, using analogue synthesizers and noises blended with percussive sounds they recorded in the studio with various objects and vocals. Tweaked monosynth lines and rich polyphonic pads are featured on most tracks, and single note patterns of various timbre often reinforce the grooves. The title track on the A-side is as simple as effective and the name relates to some of the percussion parts which reminded them of a rodent digging a hole in the ground. All tracks speak of sweet, riding rhythms and nights full of action. Pure quality."

2008 release. "Keep On" is a straight-up soulful vocal cut that keeps the energy locked in amongst a finely-jacked modern house roll. Tightly-swung beats work a deep sub bass undercurrent straight to the floor, allowing Robert Owen's silky vocals to shine through. Fellow Londoners Two Armadillos have built something special with their remix which climbs and climbs through mystical valleys of early morning, dewy splendor. This EP really highlights the true scope available within the best of house music today, and the power such songs have to uplift and infuse us with positivity, brightening even the darkest of mornings.
