"The Binary System is a duo: Roger Miller on piano and 'prepared piano' (alligator clips, bolts, etc. -- affixed onto and between the piano strings to produce unorthodox percussive sounds) with Larry Dersch (who has appeared on a number of Morphine albums) on drums. Their music presents tightly structured compositions and open improvisation in a high-energy context.
