"Dutch-based producer Lorenzo Coe embarks on his debut release for Midnight Recordings with the Bale EP. Inspired by his Indonesian roots Lorenzo combines eastern percussive rhythms with Detroit influenced soundscapes, for peak time and warm up sessions. 'Bale' opens up proceedings with a distinct Detroit techno feel, we're always suckers for cowbells akimbo and the emotive melodies on top barely prepare you for the mammoth square bassline which wades in to great effect midway. 'Lombok' is slightly deeper but no less effective with nice rim shots and a canny filtered build, while 'Bahasa' offers a cool fusion of percussive beat, house rhythms and a driving bassline, bringing back some classic 88 vibes to great effect."
