"Battle Twig" is the old English word for the insect "Ear Wig," which describes to a degree the nature of the title track. This is a heavy analog-sounding beast that creeps around the floor, playing hide and seek, with sometimes quite gentle sounds lurking here and there. It's very much in the style of Steve Barnes' track "Cosmic Sandwich." With the much more elegant, almost pop-fueled "Scatter Realm," the idea of two minds in one person appears again. This track is a kingdom of sound, with its melodies being flung, spread, broadcasted, sprinkled and dispersed throughout the track. It is based on synth melodies that fill the air with joy.

Following the successful remixes by André Kraml and Daso of Cosmic Sandwich's hit release, here comes the second part of the "Man In a Box Remixes," by Chardronnet and MBF artists Markese. In this volume, Cosmic Sandwich aka Steve Barnes was caught in his camouflage outfit during his wild and rave-y days in Brighton! Chardronnet's remix features another stunning bassline-driven tune that works, in addition to the original Cosmic Sandwich vocal samples and rhythmical stabs. The flipside track is a Markese & Cosilli remix that is a hypnotic, floating and deep track that uses a powerful bass section.

"The crazy original of Cosmic Sandwich's 'Man In a Box' made it into the top 20 of 2005 in Groove magazine. With these remixes the record has received a special treatment from our neighbor André Kraml and our young shooting star Daso. André Kraml is well known for his Safari track on Firm that was remixed by James Holden and for his fabulous remix of Dominik Eulbergs 'der purpurrote sonnenuntergang am schilfumsäumten bergsee'. With his 'Man In a Box' remix André delivers his perspective in a straightened out beat format, having tiny bits of the original pop up here and there, creating a surreal feeling with a strong and powerful analogue sounding production aiming also at bigger dance floors! For the flipside mbf artist Daso made a remix of the Man In a Box track 'You Too' giving it his special post-rock-disco character."

"Following his international success with his self-titled track 'Cosmic Sandwich,' the Englishman Steve Barnes has produced the official answer to his achievement with his EP Man In a Box. Even more surreal, nervous, frenetically and twitching rhythmically at all ends the title track 'Man In a Box' determinedly strides along its path... and so finds his way in to the auditory canals of his fans. Again the vocals come from Riley Reinhold. In 'Man In a Box' they describe the claustrophobic situation within four walls. Antagonism and fascination in one, a regular recurring situation. The flipside track 'You Too' reveals a felicitous contrast to the A-side. With it's straightness it is even more in the style of the first Cosmic Sandwich."

"'Cosmic Sandwich' the first track of Cosmic Sandwich aka Steve Barnes and the initial track defining his project, comes here in an exclusive remix by himself and on the flipside by Traum's Domink Eulberg. Explosive, warped-crazy house, modulating into nothingness and back to the starting point, comes here with new funky basslines and a quite different mood, triggered by Steve Barnes. The flipside by Domink Eulberg takes the original creating a rave monster on ist on. A true voyage through energy levels that accumulate in a crass turning point, that is a very special one."

"The second 12" by Cosmic Sandwich, a project based on psychedelic, warped disco house, written and produced by the English producer Steve Barnes. His first 12" with the name 'Cosmic Sandwich' was club hit around the globe, 'Zig Zag Feeling' has a similar feel to it. It is a 10 minute voyage through hi energy disco house with ups and downs, but tight in the rhythms. Enjoy the trip."
