MBF 12024EP

The debut track by Daso, which was post-produced by Emanuel Geller and Riley Reinhold, was a small hit on My Best Friend. Now, one of Germany's hottest producers Oliver Koletzki has remixed it alongside the upcoming star Skat from the French label, Karat. Oliver has taken the track to newer grounds, picking up on a totally different beat and adding a more uptempo, electro feel to it. Skat's remix is hard jacking with a lot of understatement on the one hand, and with a strong passion for the groove one the other hand.

"With his debut record Daybreak Daso has managed as one of the only producers in Germany to combine his indie past with his new house influences in an authentic and credible way. His first release went straight to many charts. With a lot of elegance and noticeable emotional density, he embodies a youthful version of what Etienne De Crecy and Phoenix represent. The title track 'Go Upstairs' is a accomplished continuation of the Daybreak theme: the processing of subconscious '80s experiences. The tracks combine the bombastic and monumental sounds of the '70s with the airiness and melancholy of the independent scene of the '80s. 'Until I Find You' is also a wonderful swan song to a great night."

"Daso is by far the youngest artist on MBF. He has already produced with German indie rock singers like Jens Friebe (Intro magazine). But with the upcoming MBF release Daybreak, Daso has created his first dance maxi. It ranges from Paris house to German new wave music. Daso has put all of his soul into these two tracks... playing chords that even Moby could be proud of. He has included a rob to vocoder voice.... tragic and beautiful at the same time. Daso fuses a post '80s feeling with the big basslines of today to create a hybrid of a special kind."
