Dry Water Wet Land is the debut album by underground Detroit rapper Dirtee Curt, set for release by Australian based label Fifty Records. Featuring production and features from fellow Butter Made colleagues, the album pairs Curt's raw delivery and personal lyricism with faithfully innovative, late '90s/early '00s inspired, sample-laden hip-hop. From the moment you hear Dry Water Wet Land, you'll know that Dirtee Curt has experienced a lot and been on quite a journey. A few journeys, actually. In discussing the album, he says, "It took forever and a day but it's been a learning experience more than anything," adding "I'm telling my life story... without telling it." The appropriately titled album intro, "Opening Act", is a listener's smorgasbord of events, surrounded by people asking him various questions and, in some cases, asking for favors. Throughout the process, Curt remains mostly unfazed. This especially rings true on "Daily Grind", where he states on the opening bars "Dirt Curt in the building, far from makin' a million/But makin' it do with the little that I got." At that point, you can just put your seatbelt on and zone out. Features Smoke, Joel "Fluent" Greene, and Audopilots.
