"Hailing from the frozen north of Norway, Diskjokke aka Joachim Dyrdahl makes his debut on Get Physical sublabel Kindisch. He comes from one of the coldest parts of Europe, but his warm, quirky, perkussive grooves will melt hearts. Diskjokke hooks up with Vinny Villbass for the leading track 'Meksibobo.' The toughest track of the five, its squelchy acid line and jacking rhythm make nods to classic Chicago house, but without sacrificing the groovy Scandinavian disco feeling. It's followed by 'Gravaersdag,' which is driven by a mournful electronic bass that soars and builds until it reaches an epic climax. This emotional club track has the kind of sadness that seeing a melting polar ice cap evokes. 'Folk I Farta,' a seductive track teeming with mournful piano lines and icy synths, which are held together with tight house claps. The end result is another tripped out, trancy serving of the Norse universe."
