WOW 022EP

DJ Minx's sound is tasteful, the kind that only a veteran producer can achieve. Drum/pulse heavy guttural beats, that somehow seem to latch onto your ribcage and shake it to death with every single pulse. Everything is interconnected in a rhythmical way and it has an almost "Tribal" nuance to it. This music harks to the essence of what House music is, in its truest most primitive form. The music is predominantly created with the rave experience in mind. You can tell it was made by someone who has spent years playing in clubs -- you can actually visualize the crowd responding to subtle changes that although distinctive, never distract your ears too much from the overall groove of the tracks. "Paris To 313" features Arnaud Paris.

"No strangers to high-quality remixing or releasing nothing less than exquisite productions of their own, Josh Wink and Ricardo Villalobos remix DJ Minx's 'A Walk In The Park'. The superb original of 'A Walk In The Parkl' was released on Minx's Airborne EP thru her Women on Wax label (womenonwax.com) in August of 2003. While great fans of the original, Minus re-released the song 'A Walk In the Park' with new remixes of the underground minimal house hit by Minx, Matthew Dear and Magda on the A Walk In the Park EP (Minus22) in May 2004."

...with remixes by Matthew Dear & Magda. "Some background...Minx was a key component of the legendary 'Deep Space Radio' weekly program on Detroit's WGPR 107.5 FM. This radio show was headed by the innovators of techno music: 'Magic' Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Eddie Fowlkes, and Derrick May. Currently she can be heard on the weekly 'Rhythm Gallery,' an afternoon mix show that she co-hosts with Jerry the Cat on CJAM-FM. In December 1996, Minx gave birth to Women on Wax, a collective of lady DJs from the Detroit area that held frequent events to support up-and-coming female talent."
