Detroit's Derrick Thompson aka Drivetrain is a DJ and producer who heads up Soiree Records International. Harkening the rich production values of '70s Philly soul, "The Rain" features brisk rhythms with triangle, electric piano, alto sax, flute, and acoustic bass. "Angel (Serenity Mix)" opens with a sinuous house thrust and a tight, jacking groove, synthesizer flourishes, and a smooth vocal refrain. "Tragedy Park" is akin to a stomping techno raver with a smidgen of acid -- definitely a floor-shaking bomb.
