The song, written and sung by Maurice Aymard, DJ, producer, and founder of the El Palmas Music label, was recorded live in New York with production by Cheo Pardo. "La Baja" fits perfectly with El Palmas' aesthetic, which fuses social, tropical, and festive elements. The use of classic Latin percussion (congas, timbales, bongos) creates a rhythmic base reminiscent of Central American and Afro-Latin genres.
