"Whispering Foils is Kev Hopper's first recording for Drag City. It marks a foray into more melodic and accessible areas than his previous releases (such as 1998's Spoombung). With Whispering Foils, and intoxicated mixture of propulsive prepared bass, atmospheric sampledelic electronica and the surreal sound of the musical saw form the main sound -- with percussionist (and High Llama) Dominic Murcott adding marimbas and vibes. Luminaries such as Sean O'Hagan and Charles Hayward, among others, make guest appearances.
