Formed in the 1979, the duo is still grooving at their studio in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. Laid Back gained their first international major break-through in the '80s with Sunshine Reggae and White Horse. The dualism and originality of the two songs has left a worldwide and everlasting reputation of their music. The third evergreen from their hand was made in 1990 named Bakerman altogether with a music video by Lars Von Trier. More recently, the two members have co-founded their own record company, Brother Music, which has released Laid Back Albums Cosyland, the chill out album Cosmic Vibes and the recent two studio albums Uptimistic Music and Road to Fame. For their 45th Band Anniversary the iconic duo is back with Forevergreen! A stunning, simply irresistible album, meeting the band and their more than 45 years of music history.

Brother Music present an official reissue and first CD issue of Laid Back's self-titled debut album, originally released in 1981. Released by Laid Back on their own label in a carefully re-edited edition including seven bonus tracks. Remastered by the band from the original 4-track audio tapes. Includes the timeless early hit "Bolivia" and the classic "Roger" which was covered by MGMT. In the beginning, Laid Back studio was a 4-track studio. Many of the songs from the first album were recorded on 4-track, including "Bolivia". However, in the process the band upgraded to an 8-track and re-recorded "Bolivia", the version that made the album. Listening back to the 4-track version, it has got the groove that was lost on the 8-track version. Laid Back were always going for the best sound. All of the band's big hits are first takes --that's where the magic is. Much time and effort were spent to restore the 4-track version, without changing or adding anything. Just editing and improvement of sound. Engineered by Bjørn Winnem.

Earlier in 2013, Danish electronic pioneers Laid Back released Uptimistic Music Vol. 1 (a digital download-only release), their first studio album since 2004. The duo's long-awaited comeback was followed by critical acclaim and a series of live performances. While playing festivals in Ibiza, Georgia, Denmark, and the Faroe Islands in the summer of 2013, John Guldberg and Tim Stahl took the time to put the finishing touches on this release: Uptimistic Music, a double album featuring volume one and a second record of unreleased material. "Brother" was the album's first single: "The track originates from the mid-'80s and it talks about the brotherly feeling in us," explains Stahl. "Its lyrics are even more relevant today: 'Brother, time is running out.' We are well-aware of the fact that we are some old music industry geezers," says Guldberg jokingly. "Uptimistic Music is a combination of some old songs we had lying around -- that are still alive and kicking! -- and new songs we composed since our last album Happy Dreamer. Anything less than a double album wouldn't have been enough. The positive and timeless message that pervades our music is deeply-rooted in the way we think and express ourselves. A song should be judged on its longevity rather than its novelty," agree the two musicians, who have been friends for over 40 years.

Brother Music presents the entirely instrumental album from Danish classic dance duo Laid Back, responsible for the smash dance hit "White Horse." These tracks were recorded when the term "chill-out music" was coming into being. At the time the tracks on Cosmic Vibes were produced, the duo's very own Brother Music label thought the music too different from their well-known style, but found it perfect for relaxing and painting. Despite the positive feedback they received when the music was the soundtrack for their painting exhibition at Galleri Projekt, Copenhagen 2001, these tracks went back on the shelf. At the time, Laid Back was working on the album Happy Dreamer (2005), where "Slow Friday" and "Blue Lagoon" appeared in different versions. Recently they listened to the music again, and, like good wine, they believe it has only gotten better from being stored on a shelf for 14 years before being released.

Five-track mini-album, including a free CD version. For a short period in 1981 and with brand-new equipment such as a Roland 808, SH 101 and GR 500, classic German dance duo Laid Back made some 8-track "just for fun" jam tapes, mainly just to experiment for their own pleasure. From those sessions, only the legendary "White Horse" made it to a final treatment. The rest of the material was left behind, as their record company at the time found it too "different." After "White Horse" became a track that defined their sound, the duo thought it would be interesting to dig out leftovers to fulfill a documentation of that period -- crucial for the artists at the time. They were still innocent newcomers, who didn't actually know that they were creating a new sound. Recently, that leftover material was transferred from analog to digital, and, to stay as true as possible to original intentions, they only added vocals, bass and drum-beats ahead of a final mix.

"Get High" is a new track release from Laid Back. The lyrics may instantly lead your mind onto thinking of cannabis, but try to think about it in a broader context. Musically, the groove is kept groovy, with an updated twist. Danish electronic musician and DJ Kasper Bjørke has done a really cool remix. There's also a space mix, for those who like to get out there and more into it.

Laid Back now run their own record company, Brother Music. The first release is a controversial track recorded at the same session that yielded their classic "White Horse," but was censored by their record company at the time. "Cocaine Cool" has been resurrected A.D. 2010. These grooves are musically a brother to "White Horse" and is the completion of an older recording that still sounds as fresh and relevant today as it did 29 years ago.
