"Robert Schulze aka Lax, Cologne disco icon from the early '80s, has returned with a brand-new 2-tracker. This which the title suggests is a glamorous stomping machine-triggered disco house track, that relies on a wonderful Pet Shop Boys-like string which creates goose-skin throughout the hearing. A track which reveals that Robert Schulze's experience 25 years ago, playing four times a week in the leading discothèques, still proves worthy. The flipside, 'B-Boogie' consists of strong '80s disco to new wave influences."

"MBF welcomes one of the pioneers of the electronic dance from Germany. Robert Schulze was one of the leading DJs in the 80ies in Cologne, playing the famous clubs such as: Colombo, Ritz Club, Morocco, Coconut and Checker's in Düsseldorf. Robert was influenced heavily by Bobby Orlando, Arthur Baker, Shep Pettibone, Larry Levan and Francois Kervorkian and has produced with famous people around the world. For MBF he has developed a special project which is based on the cornerstones of electro, house and disco, a mere rhythm based sequencer music. 'Lift up!' is therefore a logical consequence of his encounters and his love to early dance music. All tracks are done with real analoge instruments which explains the sexy groove and the warm sound. 'Music Makes You' is a long extended disco mix, reduced to the essentials, with machines at work. And if you listen closely or dance intensively, you can hear the machines speak and roar. Robert is nicely building up tension adding cascades of sequenced sounds and triggering old-school vocals from the early decade of disco and house."
