Sold out, 2020 repress forthcoming... "Let's hear it now for good old '89.... Following a year of devastating trauma where the Pink Dots went from being a six-piece band to just two stalwart survivors of myself and Phil (The Silverman), and our Amsterdam home was emptied so it could be transformed into a wine bar for Yuppies, the last 12 months of the decade were laced with the optimism of a new beginning. For a start, ace saxophone master Niels Van Hoorn stepped in, playing his first show perhaps three days after his first rehearsal. We'd been living in a caravan in the grounds of Niels' converted farmhouse, but were offered a flat in the 'worst part' of Nijmegen (which actually meant there were fewer buses on Sundays). Then, Niels' old friend and 'Golden Age' guest guitarist Bob Pistoor turned the Dots into a foursome and injected an intense passion into band. A good year. Lady Fate didn't seem quite so angry anymore, and a couple of cassettes bearing sketches for songs were fleshed out into the evergreen landmark that became The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse. Has it really been 30 whole years? The only sad footnote was that Bob joined the band a month too late to qualify for that elusive American work permit and The Pink Dots' first tour of the continent was as a three piece. His greatest ambition was to play in the USA, but the tiny mind of pointless bureaucracy can't cope outside the box. Tragically, Bob prematurely passed away in 1992, having never toured America. This 30th Anniversary edition of The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse is dedicated to Bob with undying love. --Edward Ka-spel, August 2019.
This 30th anniversary edition of The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse includes the complete album as well as the tracks from Princess Coldheart EP and two extended session recordings on a bonus LP. It is presented in a deluxe gatefold jacket, with a lyric insert and a color postcard with a download code. Edition of 250."

Double LP version. "Legendary Pink Dots' classic The Golden Age is now presented in a 2018 Remastered version. 1988. Half of the six-piece Legendary Pink Dots had quit after a long tour. Edward Kaspel & The Silverman were living in a caravan. It was never going to be a happy album, yet it remains a personal favorite for the two survivors of LPDs class of '88. A masterful set of avant-garde, experimentalist melancholia."

"Finally available on vinyl is one of The Legendary Pink Dots most beloved albums, From Here You'll Watch The World Go By, one of the groups most artistically complete and visionary works. Moving from noir jazz and grand psychedelic ballads to sophisticated space rock textures, the charismatic voice of Edward Ka-Spel floats and teases as only his can. Diehard fans of LPD have certainly been waiting a long time for this gem of an album to finally be presented on vinyl. A must have! Includes bonus tracks. Limited double-LP; Edition of 499 copies."

Sold out, 2020 repress forthcoming... "In 1991 The Legendary Pink Dots released The Maria Dimension, an album most accurately described in the band's own lexicon as 'Kaleidoscopic', composed of a blend of electronics, guitar and voice, with a generous helping of sitar, brass and woodwind instruments. The songs were recorded at the band's home studio following four weeks of improvisation and experimentation. The first vinyl edition of the album was released as an edited version of the CD, with the last six tracks sliced off. 25 years on, this edition contains the complete fourteen-song album on vinyl for the first time ever, and has been remastered for maximum listening pleasure. The albums are presented in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with tip-on printing, with lyrics, track list and band photo printed on the inner sleeves."

"Summer of 1990 was glorious. The Dots entered the studio on a high as The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse seemed to be embraced by a broad audience. Our label Play It Again Sam had been generous with the budget for a new record, and there was a spirit of daring adventure firing up the band. For the first month we pretty much jammed... and Bob captured many of these sessions on a small tape recorder placed in the middle of the studio. Bob had dusted off his sitar, Niels unearthed his monstrous kettle drums, Phil surrounded himself with synths and samplers. If it hadn't been for the mosquitoes we might have played through the nights. Driving to the studio each day was a challenge in itself, as the last stretch was just dirt-track with huge potholes to navigate around. There were other obstacles too: sand drifts, Highland cattle that stubbornly blocked the path and Konik horses - partial to nibbling the plastic wing mirrors and rubber tires on Phil's car. But... most dangerous of all were the nature walkers - they would shake their fists and rant about it being a nature reserve, and that cars were not allowed (always choosing to ignore that one board which read 'except for residents'). The albums are presented in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with tip-on printing, with lyrics, track list and band photo printed on the inner sleeves."

Limited edition of 444. Includes hand-numbered certificate. A vinyl reissue of The Legendary Pink Dots's Premonition, originally released on cassette in 1982. In the early '80s the whole concept of committing music to vinyl seemed like a noble but improbable dream. It was expensive and unless a label was offering, it was consigned to the experimental band's "bucket list". Cassette albums were another matter however. The Dots had chaotically joined the tape revolution with a couple of releases on their own Mirrordot label and after accidentally wiping one of the masters, decided it was something better left to "real" labels. Hence the band was delighted when Ian Dobson from Flowmotion approached them. Consequently Premonition was assembled; a combination of older and newer songs were placed in an extremely psychedelic collage with a rack of effects tuned and abused with the help of Pat Bermingham, who owned the In Phaze label and a small studio which used to belong to Pink Floyd's Nick Mason. Sadly, Flowmotion ran into trouble after the release and it took a few years before the Dots actually saw a copy the original album.

Minimal synths, guitars, syncopated rhythms that are making weird, psychedelic, and transcendental noises which are of course accompanied by the distinctive voice of Ka-Spel. Lying on your sofa, pumping up the volume and just dream away on their ethereal sounds. 10 to the Power of 9 is a dark and exceptional trip into their warped and bizarre musical psyche. For sure one of the best concept albums of the band."

"The Legendary Pink Dots originally released The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse in 1990, sandwiched between the highly acclaimed albums The Golden Age and The Maria Dimension. Critics may differ, but fans generally consider this period to be the band's creative peak, an opinion that is backed up by solid and steady sales of the back catalog. The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse is an intoxicating blend of rock and psychedelia, seasoned with a touch whimsy, simultaneously engaging and memorable. Two decades on the music stands unblemished, timeless, enduring, and vital. For this reissue the music has been remastered by the Dots' soundman Raymond Steeg, and the CD booklet has been reworked and expanded."

"Hearing that our 2009 Paris show was to be in small space called Le Klub, I admit being unable to stop a smile spreading across my face. During the sound check in another Paris club years earlier, a record label representative was experiencing problems over a guest list at the door. Filled with anger, he burst into the hall ranting and cursing in Parisian pidgeon English...This klub is fuckeeeng!' Those words instantly entered Dots-mythology -- an utterance used to let off steam in the face of frustration on the road (and always with a French accent). Legendary Pink Dots played a two-night residency at Le Klub, and the utterance was never needed. The first night was an intimate affair, while the second, which drew a weekend crowd, felt like a rock show in a shoebox. It was this second night that was filmed by Johanna Barda and her camera team." --Edward Ka-Spel. "Coinciding with the Legendary Pink Dots' 2011 European tour (which includes a night in Paris) comes this live DVD. The performance took place on November 13, 2009, in an intimate Parisian nightclub, with a lineup featuring Edward Ka-Spel, Silverman, Martijn de Kleer and Niels van Hoon. Raymond Steeg worked the soundboard." NTSC, all-region. Running time: approx. 90 min.

2013 repress. "Unlike most acts of their vintage, The Legendary Pink Dots look forward. After more than 25 years, they continue to make compelling new music that is demanded by fans and maintains the high level of quality that set their careers in motion. Led by singer/songwriter Edward Ka-Spel and keyboardist/songwriter Phil 'Silverman' Knight, the band continues to create their singular brand of modern psychedelia. Edward Ka-Spel's lyrics breathe with a sagacity and cleverness only found in rock's greatest writers. Their new album Seconds Late For The Brighton Line finds the band in familiar territory; pulsing Krautrock, dark and sinister pop and epic post-industrial soundscapes. The album invites the listener to put on head phones, close their eyes and embark on a technicolor journey. Stand out tracks include the epic electronic groove of 'Russian Roulette', the pretty naivete of 'Someday' and the chilling goth-pop of 'Endless Time.'" Includes a 17+ minute vinyl-only bonus track.
