Welcome Back! Now, that hopefully goes for the public and parties, life and love and most definitely for Klasse Wrecks's mastermind Luca Lozano and Running Back. Bigger and better, rougher and tougher, Boss Moves 2 boldly starts, where the first part left us: somewhere in London's record store Bermuda triangle between Black Market, Fat Cat, and Release The Groove circa 1995. You will hear traces of Italian imports and IDM, European techno, British breakbeat and bass music culture, the DNA of what would turn into tech-house. With Luca Lozano as the conduit, Boss Moves 2 seems like a kaleidoscope of influences and a flash of inspirations. Seemingly all of a piece, it never appears like a scheme, but rather as a spirited, soulful and special double pack for dancers, DJs, and devotees. Made in Sheffield and done with determination!

Assertiveness can be virtue. Hence, Boss Moves -- Luca Lozano's debut for Running Back -- is aptly titled. Generously spread over two vinyl plates, Lozano investigates the hybrid sound that once was embodied by groups like Future Sound of London, labels like Guerilla, and DJs such as Sasha or Dave Angel. Blessed with the production of skills of today, the eyes of a tailor, and the chemoreceptors of a perfumer, the Klasse Wrecks and Grafiti Tapes man delivers nine tracks that do it all: tribal, trance, breakbeats, house, 303s, bleeps, rave, dubby deepness, and pianos. Like a trip down the 3D-visual-kaleidoscopic-artwork* hole, or a snake charmer without a flute. Intake as a whole, record it to your tape desk, and feel like tuning into on a pirate station in '95. Happiness is just around the bend. *None of that can be found here. See explosive black-and-white sleeve for further reference.

Klasse Recordings and Grafiti Tapes impresario Luca Lozano rolls up to Hypercolour with a 12" of genre-blending future dance grooves following releases for Sex Tags UFO, Optimo Trax, and Crème Organization. "Gun Fingers" is a strictly heads-down affair, with luscious synths and tantalizing breaks sandwiched between pounding kicks. "Calling All Dancers" is laced with the familiar components of the golden era of UK dance. Kindred spirit DJ Sotofett weighs in with two versions of "Gun Fingers" exclusively for the vinyl edition of this release. Those who know Sotofett's killer style will know the score here, and he certainly does not disappoint.

Luca Lozano, owner of Klasse Recordings, presents this majestic 4-track EP on Optimo Trax. Inspired by the past but sounding the antithesis of retro. In his own words: "The Optimo Trax EP was born out of a time when I was listening to a lot of old bleep house and rave, early '90s UK stuff ... I wanted to make a collection of music that sounded like it was related to a certain place and time and in effect confirm my own identity within its context."
