YORE 009EP
|
Yore label-head Andy Vaz pairs up with Sistrum manager Patrice Scott. Vaz presents a slice of old-school funk and soul within a deep house formula that has more in common with Isaac Hayes and James Brown than with any techno icon. Scott offers "Azteck," where shimmering stabs congeal over a thudding kick drum and flickering percussion. While Vaz's cut draws inspiration from the traditions of decades past, Scott's looks towards the future when its gleaming shuttle lifts off for distant galaxies.
