This is Terre Thaemlitz's first full-length release for the Mule Electronic label. He is currently based in Japan, after having had an extensive career in New York. He is an award-winning multi-media producer, writer, public speaker, educator, audio remixer, DJ and owner of the Comatonse Recordings record label. Combining themes of identity politics with an ongoing critique of the socio-economics of commercial media production, his production styles include electroacoustic computer music, club-oriented deep house, digital jazz, ambient and computer composed neo-expressionist piano solos. He is a resident DJ at Club Module in Tokyo, and his writings on music and culture have been published internationally. He is the foremost pioneer in what has been termed "new ambient" and he has released music under the names DJ Sprinkles, Chugga, G.R.R.L, Social Material, Teriko & Terre's Neu Wuss Fusion. He has also started his own label, released on labels such as Mille Plateaux and Daisyworld Discs (ex-Yellow Magic Orchestra member, Hosono Haruomi). His creativity and highly politicized stance in the music scene has led to many followers of his music. This album best represents Terre Thaemlitz's deeper-than-deep house style. Using his great gift for beautiful ambient music, he makes an album that is both dancefloor friendly and a great home-listening album.

A collection of Terre's out-of-print and rare cuts from Comatonse Recordings, to be spread across a CD album and three vinyl EPs. This first one features tracks under the artist names Chugga & DJ Sprinkles -- both originally released in 1998. "Terre Thaemlitz is an award winning multi-media producer, writer, public speaker, educator, audio remixer, DJ and owner of the Comatonse Recordings record label. His work critically combines themes of identity politics -- including gender, sexuality, class, linguistics, ethnicity and race -- with an ongoing critique of the socio-economics of commercial media production. This diversity of themes is matched by Thaemlitz' wide range of production styles, which include electroacoustic computer music, club oriented deep house, digital jazz, ambient, and computer composed neo-expressionist piano solos. He has released twelve solo albums, as well as numerous 12" EPs, 7" singles, collaborative albums, remixes, and video works. He is a resident DJ at Club Module in Tokyo, where his 'Deeperama' parties are held bi-monthly. His writings on music and culture have been published internationally in a number of books, academic journals and magazines. As a speaker and educator on issues of non-essentialist transgenderism and pansexual Queer sexuality, Thaemlitz has participated in panel discussions throughout Europe and Japan, as well as held numerous cross-cultural sensitivity workshops at Tokyo's Uplink Factory, near his current residence in Kawasaki, Japan."
