"Last summer saw the release of Transcargo's debut album Idle Luxury on the esoteric Trunk Records. The band preside at their studio in London Bridge, formerly home to Stock Aitken and Waterman's Hit Factory, where they have recorded their second album, Momentum. Transcargo's music imaginatively covers an array of styles that prevent the band from being conveniently labelled and which enables the band to do anything and go anywhere to create their experimental pop. Aided by the vintage gear they collect and which can be heard in the layered production carried out by the in-demand Barny (who aside from mixing Kasabian's and The Arctic Monkeys' recent debut albums, has also written with Dead Or Alive) the band generate a sound that doesn't comfortably fit anywhere."

"Trunk Records is proud to release Transcargo's debut album Idle Luxury... slightly skewed sunshine/space-age pop in the style of Saint Etienne or a more poppy Broadcast. Transcargo's music is hooky ('hooks harder to remove than red wine stains from a carpet'), different and occasionally quite beautiful -- they write everything from simple ballads to modern glammy blues and liven up the stale sound of pop with their great fusions of catchy grooves and lyrics grooves with an added brass section. Anthony Whiting, the guitarist and producer in the band has made three of the tracks on the new Mia album (released on XL Recordings)."

"We are pleased to announce one of the most eclectic, accomplished debuts we've heard in a good while in the shape of Transcargo. It's pure pop. It's catchy (we challenge you to get 'Oh Boy' out of your head after a couple of listens) but twists and turns and does all that a pop hit shouldn't. Currently earning praise and plays from Mark & Lard, Tim 'Love' Lee and Zero 7, what also makes Transcargo that bit extra-special is that they're the first contemporary pop combo to be signed to the legendary Trunk label. File next to St Etienne/Stereolab."
