CADENZA 081EP
|
Chile's Felipe Venegas returns to Cadenza with perhaps his most daring EP yet. On "Ritmical Baco" the groove is free-flowing, and its beats flood the spectrum like a river that has burst its banks. "Orumila" is a traditional chant from South America, dressed up a modern structure that some might identify as the Cadenza house style. "Sueño Lucido" is a cut influenced by Philip Glass' minimalism and Eddie Palmieri's music.

HOEHE 022EP

After his releases for Cadenza and Cecille, Felipe Venegas blesses Höhenregler with three very nice house tracks. Support from the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Nick Curly, Loco Dice and Reboot should give you an idea of how worthy this is.

CADENZA 067EP
|
In 2009, Luciano's Cadenza imprint discovered Chilean electronic artist Felipe Venegas; instantly taken aback by his truly unique South American sound, Felipe was welcomed aboard the cutting-edge label. The EP starts with thundering gong crashes and jangling bells, betraying an almost story-like theme as toms and intense brass melodies converse with one another on the title track. "Orisha Chango" sees Felipe utilize his skills to ignite the dancefloor with a powerful yet sensual Cuban-influenced track. Rich textures bound by ancient depth.
