"Last sighted on Lex Records' Lexoleum Volume 3, alongside the likes of Madlib, Supersoul and J-Zone -- Waxfactor comes with a high quality buzz attached to his beats and samples. This eight tracker in ace cartoon sleeve does not disappoint, and makes a conscious effort to showcase the wide variety of styles this guy is prepared to hop. From the kick off, 'Plead The Fifth' is a brutal headsnap amalgam of funky assed beats, edits, textures and human beatbox. The edit chop-socky kicks harder on the deep 'Spanish Fly' which is like a more friendly D-Styles. 'A Famous Myth' adds some nice live touches that ride so sweetly behind plunky tripping drums and percussion, a downtempo masterclass. 'SRB' -- a collaboration with Mista Ed -- dropkicks cinematica and hectic, cold gettin' stoopid-ill, fly-scratching -- hype tune, hype tune. Large flip side action too -- XFM favourite 'Reggaenomics' showcases how Wax brings the funk armed only with a set of decks, some deeply dug tunes and a whole lot of attitude, factor in the one-two punch of 'Take It' and 'Lou's Blues', not to mention the poised strings' moments of 'Better Days' and you've got the lot. It's clear that Waxfactor has style, funk and the requisite amount of personality in abundance."
