"White Willow started out as a folk-rock band in the mid-'90s, but has since then become Norway's most prominent progressive rock band, and a leading exponent of the Scandinavian progressive sound along with Anglagard and Anekdoten. Each White Willow release has seen an influx of new members, and the trend continues on the band's fifth album. Signal To Noise features their stunning new vocalist Trude EidTang. Bandleader Jacob Holmlupo wanted to revamp the band's sound and create something more modern but still appealing to their core progressive rock fanbase. To accomplish this the band traveled to Denmark to record with noted producer Tommy Hansen (Helloween, TNT, Circus Maximus). The music now owes as much to The Gathering as it does King Crimson. The members of White Willow are constantly involved in other projects as well, including jazz/electronica pioneers Jaga Jazzist, psychedelic rockers Motorpsycho and the symphonic rock group Wobbler."
