With its interrupted, intricately detailed, and effects-washed sound, "You've Never Been Alone" is an idiosyncratic yet fiercely melodic and groove-based pop hit. Andrea Balency uses a smorgasbord of sounds to explore relationships, restlessness, and dislocation.
