Originally released in 1978, this is one of Brazil's most rare psych records, ever, with only 500 copies pressed and given to friends or sold in shops -- the country's first private pressing. This record began as an audio accompaniment to the poetry of Antônio de Pádua Carvalho, when Hugo Filho was the lead guitarist of the garage band The Gentlemen, which included Zé Ramalho, known for his collaboration with Lula Côrtes. For this unique project, Filho invited Ramalho, the musician and composer Elísio Alexandrino (Golinha) to control the 4-channel tape recorders, musician Enilton Araújo, 12-stringed viola player Irapuan (Pupu), drummer Edmilson (Crauna), and percussionist Zé Crisólogo, with Filho (Hugo Leão) on nylon guitar, bass, keyboards, etc. If you're into Sacros, Lula Côrtes, Mutantes and El Congreso, you'll be WAY into this. Totally mellow countrified folk-psych/Brazilian pop with elements of fuzz and other unexpected, twisted endings. Something you'll want to play for your new girl on a crazy summer night.
