Mauler is a name used by three fictional characters appearing in the Marvel Comics universe. Mauler is also an acronym for the suit of power armor the characters wore, standing for "Mobile Armored Utility Laser-guided E-beam, Revised." In this case, it is the project name of Belgian producer Fabrice Lig. The Hybrid Project is centered around a typical Detroit sounding sequence and a strong post-Detroit, Carl Craig theme. "Hybrid" is a real rocker with a nice breakdown in the middle. "Micro Ballad" is a hybrid of electro-rhythms, percussion and techno. The track incorporates Kraftwerk-sounding sequences with aspects of muzak and acid bass lines. This track is for those in the know.
