"Peter is a cult singer/songwriter with a history in the avant garde, who makes accessible guitar-based music which relaxes, titillates, confronts and charms. Described by Wired magazine as a 'fusion of Lou Reed and Bob Dylan, cross bred with English humorist Jon Hegley,' he has carved out a unique position as performer, songwriter and cartoonist. He played a part in many important groups, starting in the early '70s with Slapp Happy, Henry Cow and Faust. He was half responsible for the classic Kew. Rhone. duo album with John Greaves (which boasts arguably the greatest, certainly the most literate lyrical content of any avant garde recording to date). Peter then went on to play with The Golden Palominos for two years, and worked with Michael Stipe, Carla Bley, Jack Bruce, and John Zorn, and his own band, Breadvan."
