"The work of one Vic Margevich, an ex-pat Russian Londoner, this boasts three self-produced tec killers, self-released on his own label Tektone. 'Magic Forest' provides the whole of the first side and will sit perfectly in the hard-driving minimal techno continuum. Slashed with dub, but not too reverb-laden -- the title tune possesses significant momentum and yet a sense of true dancefloor drama is never lost. We're always suckers for the really heavy bass, and half way through this track simply catches light -- blurty, dangerous low end dominating proceedings. 'Plasma Donor' brings some well-disposed melodic lightness to a similarly heavy rhythm and a mighty jack-fest ensues -- 'Council Blue' offers some further harmony and light amongst the deadly rhythms, and with more releases on the way, we're sure you should hear much more of Vic."
