"Matteo Spedicati is another new talent from Cagliari who has been patiently honing his skills over the past couple of years and the results have been well worth waiting for. 'Weekend at Pisano's' and 'Mostrami il Dragone' are two quality cuts, heavy on both groove and melody that represent an extremely assured debut by this skillful young DJ and producer. 'Weekend at Pisano's,' as the name suggests, snakes its way through the fragmented memories of a lost 48 hours. It's a slow, chugging, funked-up track with a rolling bass and throbbing groove that provide some serious transport for the glitchy, jangling efx, the warped bleeps and crazy hookline that rises and falls as the arrangement unfolds over a full ten minutes. The flipside is equally intricate in its construction, with particular attention to detail paid to the peripheral efx and rhythms that circle the main theme. 'Mostrami il Dragone' is a tenser, darker melodic techno track, full of rich sounds and reverberating breakdowns. Similar in style to that pioneered by label and soulmate Renato Figoli on tracks like 'Ocho al Puma' and 'Let Fernando In,' Matteo continues the development of this distinctive Sardinian sound they have created -- full of mischief and intrigue, these two tunes won't fail to get the crowd moving."
