Canadian folk singer-songwriter Jeff Beadle's performance at the Haldern Pop Festival 2014 and the following German tour brought him wide media attention and packed venues. Where Did We Get Lost is Beadle's second album; its nine songs of raw and intense beauty showcase the same direct and honest songwriting that made his 2014 debut, The Huntings End, so enchanting. Beadle writes his songs while battling Toronto traffic and working alone every day. In the time since 2011 he has cleaned and serviced the swimming pools of the downtown elite; his songwriting is a release for the recollections of fears, tragedies, and heartbreaks of his past invoked by his daily solitude. The songs would begin as rough sketches on his cell phone, using voice memos and notes. Covered in grease and chlorine, Beadle would rush home to unpack the ideas, hashing out the fundamentals into melodies and complete lyrics. There is always rushed excitement to his creation. His house is the local hub for all his friends, where he prepares late-night dinners for everyone as Chef Jeff and enacts wine-infused testing grounds for young songs, eliciting feedback that he then uses to fine-tune his songs at many local Toronto venues. He plays constantly, at home, a capella in the car, at bars, in backyards, all for the love of playing. Beadle has toured Canada multiple times, and has developed a love for the road and the unique towns and people he meets on his travels. His songs tell not only his own story, but those of others; he is driven by an intense empathy for people's situations and losses. The road is his library, where he gathers stories and experiences and translates them to music.

Spyra is a German musician and producer from Berlin who has made numerous records in more than a decade, including releases with Dr. Alex Paterson, Hyperium Records, Fax Records and Manikin Records. His interpretation of post-electronic is a well-tempered mix of Krautrock-infused sequences accompanied by modern, neo-classic melody structures. Staub is not a memory of what Spyra has accomplished in the past, it presents modern live electronic elements with modern rhythms, building something epic and unexpected towards the finish line. The centerpieces on this album are "Staub" and "Flur." All pieces on Staub have been recorded during live performances in the middle of the night. Rather than being a slave to the machine, he seems to just let go, without a safety net or a double bottom. Spyra is reinventing himself with his new record and currently, there are almost no notable German producers creating such brilliantly odd pieces of music. The German label Butterfly Collectors based in Haldern and Cologne releases Staub in association with Indigo Distribution. About the making of Staub: "Somewhere, at some time, I started experimenting with an old Juno 6 and fell in love with sequences all over again. Apparently all ordered and logical, but then, the more I played and the deeper I listened, the more chaotic and unpredictable their sound became. Late in 2013 I started to record my sessions. Always in the middle of the night while the city was falling asleep. Changing cities in Berlin, Warsaw, Uzhgorod, Cologne, filled my head with child-like inspiration. At last, I was back, dreamily, in my element."

Wooden Arms are an alternative chamber music band from the UK featuring choral elements and a distinctive yet delicate blend of classical instrumentation and modern melody. Formed by classically trained piano teacher Alex Carson (piano, vocals, composition) in early 2012, the band began to take shape when Trinity College graduate Jessica Diggins (violin, vocals) joined him shortly thereafter. Cellist Fynn Titford-Mock was discovered busking in the streets of Norwich in early 2013; both Jeff Smith (guitar, vocals, cornet) and Milly Hirst (vocals) were welcomed into the fold after performing solo gigs in and around Norwich. The last addition is drummer and multi-instrumentalist Alex Mackenzie, who provides complex percussive rhythms as well as intelligent electronic samples. The musical concept behind Wooden Arms is one of classical crossover. Musical structures and instrumentation are influenced by the likes of Chopin and Mozart, while the modern melodies and production draw upon the very essence of Grizzly Bear and Andrew Bird. Wooden Arms disregard the norm and pay immaculate attention to the texture of sound. They orchestrate their music like a chamber group meeting reverb-drenched guitar and complex samples. Add to this mix their incredible choral harmonies and you're left with a captivatingly symphonic sound that mixes classically trained composition with fresh, contemporary songwriting. Tide features a rich orchestral timbre exemplified by cello, violin, and brass instrumentation mixed with contemporary percussive beats and ambient samples.
