The Long Shadow Falls is Current 93's first-ever CD box-set, and is as beautiful as the moon! This gorgeous, elaborate, boxset consists of 7CDs, plus a 7" single, and a beautiful 48-page art-book. The Long Shadow Falls collects the 41 unknown and redreamt mixes that C93 created for two (long-ago sold-out) lathe-cut 12" releases, respectively titled The Long Shadow Falls and Why Can't We All Just Walk Away?, which were both issued in editions of just 39 copies, cut by The Bricoleur at Bladud Flies!, which came with hand-painted covers by David Tibet, and with original artwork by him inserted into each copy. It also adds two final mixes of "The Long Shadow Falls" that were not released on vinyl. The box-set cover, booklet, CD covers, and 7" single all carry images from David Tibet's Channelled Hallucinatory Shadowed Found Fotograph series. For these photographs of ghosts, C93 spelled: David Tibet, Andrew Liles, and ChoirBoyHigh.

Consumer Electronics return with Surge, a brand-new album containing seven tracks and with a run-time of 42 minutes. The duo of Philip Best and album producer Russell Haswell deliver a hallucinatory vision of the world -- as it appears in 2024 e.g. Noticeably noisier and more aggressive than previous releases, CE dive even further into the chaos of sonic manipulation and mind-bending frequencies. Best's lyrics are among his most demented yet, written in the shadow of intimate distress, global conflict, and resigned disintegration. For his part, Haswell conjures crunching landscapes of sound and fiery rhythmic propulsions. The pair use state of the art technology allied with cracked and fractured primitive electronics. Exquisitely crafted to give the listener a disquieting look into the abyss. Featuring a guest appearance by long time cohort Gary Mundy of RAMLEH, this should be considered the definitive CE album. Full color artwork by Philip Best. Packaged in heavy board mini gatefold sleeve, with inner and insert.

Double vinyl reissue of Skullflower's epochal IIIrd Gatekeeper album -- the first time that this album has been available on vinyl for 30 years. In addition to the original LP this definitive and expanded edition includes extra and unreleased tracks taken from the recording sessions. For the first time all the tracks recorded by the band during this period can be heard together giving fans unprecedented access to material previously only available in the bands' archives. Recorded in London in 1991 and released in 1992 on Justin "Godflesh" Broadrick's HeadDirt label in 1992, IIIrd Gatekeeper established a worldwide reputation and following for Skullflower and convinced many who heard it that they had encountered nothing less than the best band on the planet. Arriving at the height of the "grunge" and the expansion of underground guitar "rock" into corporate America, IIIrd Gatekeeper had its roots deep in the UK noise and power-electronics scene. Guitarist Matthew Bower and bassist Anthony Di Franco were both graduates of the Broken Flag school of British noise making with their respective projects Pure, Total and JFK. IIIrd Gatekeeper was Skullflower's third album and was the first of the band's albums to feature a consistent line-up throughout its production. Includes heavy matt non-scratch laminated gatefold sleeve.

1988 saw the release of several timeless and remarkable EPs from Nurse With Wound, one of those classics is Alas The Madonna Does Not Function. Madonna in some respect was a turning point for NWW. It's a record that whilst unmistakably retaining that ineffable NWW character brought rhythmic and almost "musical" elements into play. Madonna could be seen along with the Soresucker and Cooloorta Moon EPs as the bridge between the old and the new, the natural precursors to Thunder Perfect Mind and Rock 'n Roll Station. Some 34 years later Madonna still sounds fresh and unique, a true one off, proving NWW to be one of the few genuinely enduring and uncompromising artists of their time. Added to this reissue is the fan favorite, "I Am The Poison". With its plodding cyclical bass, minimalist sound and distorted vocal lines it could be argued that "Poison" is a forgotten, yet divergent, post punk classic. Beautifully remastered by Andrew Liles. Beautiful die-cut sleeve with Babs Santini artwork.

A welcome re-release, as an expanded version, of one of Nurse With Wound's most notable albums. Originally recorded in 2002 by Steven Stapleton and Colin Potter, the piece "Salt" was a limited-edition release to accompany an exhibition of Stapleton's artwork at The Horse Hospital in London. The following year Salt Marie Celeste was released as a single 61-minute-long piece of droning atmospheric sound that manages to be both minimal and maximal at the same time. A parade of strange, often unlikely, sounds appear and disappear during the voyage from Z to A. Described by many as being one of the most unsettling and/or engaging NWW recordings, it went on to feature in many "albums of the year" lists of 2003. This new edition comes in a six-panel digipack with stunning all-new artwork by Babs Santini.

Fresh from their collaboration with Stewart Lee (DPROM 143LP, 2019), Capri-Batterie release the long-awaited release of their studio album Tanq. Six new pieces of instant composition that Full Blast drummer Michael Wertmüller describes as "more than music". What does Wertmüller mean by this? Music that crosses boundaries and transcends categorization is now an established tradition in its own right. What sets Capri-Batterie apart is their willingness to take the broken walls of genre as read and settle at once into building profound structures from the resultant dust and the debris. This truly authentic approach to music making produces surprising results that are at once bold, subtle, and questioning. A music that affords the listener another (an other) set of vanishing points. Hence Tanq. If Cecil Taylor and Blixa Bargeld sat down together and listened to this, they would understand it. This unique and incredible release is one of those rare occasions where Dirter are comfortable describing it as "unmissable". Full-color mini-LP gatefold sleeve, with a poster booklet, all with beautiful art by the band's own Matt Lord.

Jean-Hervé, Zappi, and Steve Pittis recorded their interpretations of Radio Music independently in 2007 and 2010. They all felt it important to keep to the score as much as possible, given the obvious ambiguities of having to adapt it from John Cage's original 1956 score. These recordings were released as a 10" vinyl EP and sold out instantly, so here they are on CD format with some extras. During "lockdown", it was obviously impossible to get together and perform, so an "ensemble" version culled from takes has been mixed and is included here. Also included is a version of "4'33"" recorded live at the amphitheater in Pompeii. This is a bonus track, as it's obviously not part of the Radio Music sessions. For this reason, it is presented on the sleeve as a "penalty track" in anticipation of the inevitable criticism it will encourage.

Sylvie & Babs as a picture disc LP, with new Babs Santini artwork. Originally released in 1985. Was it always supposed to be this way? Who knows? But it won't be around for long. One pressing and that's it, buy or die -- you know the drill. "Sylvie & Babs is one of the most memorable, playful, and fascinating albums in the NWW oeuvre (though a decidedly unrepresentative one) ... few (if any) other artists could've woven capricious contrarianism, low humor, bad puns, endless non-sequiturs, and chaos into such a satisfying whole" --Anthony D'Amico.

Last copies... RSD UK JUNE DROP RELEASE. Black/white vinyl; edition of 500. A much more obviously political approach is employed from this collaboration of two of the leading lights of the UK avant scene. Band Of Pain, fresh from recent collaborations with the likes of Faust and Nurse With Wound, go straight for the jugular with the scathing side long "Priti Vacunt", whilst Contrastate's Meixner offers a more US-based theme with "Deceit". Both pieces are shamelessly soaked in voice samples, with an added third track "The End Result", which takes a more musique-concrete approach. You'll never get a better "souvenir" of the hideousness of the Covid-19 years.

The common factor linking these recordings are projects that were never fully realized. The basic recordings started in 2005, however the period of reworking and transformation (2016 to 2017) is more important. All vocal parts and general revisions were done during this period. Agnosticism was the basic idea for the vocal/musical re-working of the pieces with the vocals implanted into the basic pieces, not just as simple overdubs, but inserted in a dialectical confrontation with the basic sounds and structures. "Le Ballet" relies on George Antheil's Ballet Mecanique; "For Gerald" on a co-operation with Anla Courtis using some sounds by Ovary Lodge planned for the Gerald Jupitter-Larssen series which stopped far too early. "Without M.B." includes RLW's parts for a collaboration with Marc Baron whilst "Monotype #6" includes vocals by Dylan Nyoukis, also used for a collaborative CD-r with him. Ralf Wehowsky is one of the most respected electronic composers of our day and was also a founder member of the seminal German group P16.D4 and label Selektion whose ground-breaking releases influenced many working in today's experimental music scene. Previous releases have seen him collaborate with such well known and diverse artists such as Merzbow, Bernhard Guenter, Jim O'Rourke, Achim Wollscheid, and Lionel Marchetti. His music is impossible to pigeonhole into one simple bracket. It is neither industrial or musique concrete, nor computer music nor improvisation. In fact, it could be all of these.

Herself is the moniker of multi-instrumentalist Gioele Valenti, also known as JuJu in more recent years (Fuzz Club) or as part of the psych project Lay Llama's. Herself's work was described by critics as the harmonious meeting between Sparklehorse, Gravenhurst, and Will Oldham. Valenti's songwriting takes inspiration from low-fidelity apocalyptic folk, crooning and pop; boasting a rather extensive discography. Well rooted in tradition, his music often ventures in the realms of subtle experimentation. Rigel Playground prepares the listener for a journey through cosmic folk, in which traditional Brit pop flirts with an alt vein, as if the Beatles and Sparklehorse would meet the torments of Nick Drake and the intimacy of a Mike Scott. Continuing a long list of illustrious collaborations (Amaury Cambuzat of Ulan Bator, John Fallon of The Steppes, Capra Informis of GOAT, among others), the prestigious guest on this record is Jonathan Donahue from Mercury Rev, a group of absolute prominence in the international indie panorama, which in addition to having lent his voice to the single "The Beast of Love" -- as Herself says -- informs the essence of the entire record. Not surprisingly Mercury Rev chose Herself to support them during their Italian tour in 2019.

Originally released by Crucial Blast in 2008. Desire In Uneasiness is something of an anomaly in Nadja's catalog as it features a live drummer, Jakob Thiesen, and there is no guitar on the album, with both Aiden Baker and Leah Buckareff playing bass, each trading melodic and rhythmic lines. For this first vinyl edition of the album, the tracks were re-mixed and re-mastered for the format, an extended version of "Affective Fields" was created, and Reverend Aitor (who created the original CD art) created brand new artwork for a gatefold vinyl sleeve.

Colossus was initially released as a download project that consisted of 50 tracks all of which were 50 minutes long. It was completed on March 11th, 2019, Andrew Liles's 50th birthday. "Part I" and "II" of the download versions combined are over 41 hours of "music". The "songs" are extreme, simple, complex, mellow, angular, and often surreal adaptations of every single hit from the last 50 years that was at Number One in the UK charts on Liles's birthday. This LP version is an instrumental, edited, and consolidated collection of all 50 tracks in chronological order cut into 50 second extracts. Cover photography by Davide Pepe. Purple vinyl; High gloss laminated sleeve with printed lined inner; Edition of 300.

I Feel Like A Bombed Cathedral is the ambitious new project from Amaury Cambuzat --guitarist with the legendary Faust and founder of French avant-garde experimentalists Ulan Bator. Just two pieces spread over 50-odd minutes, this CD reaches levels of drone-like intensity barely heard since the days of Theatre of Eternal Music. Beautiful collage art by Cambuzat. Packaged in a gloss laminated digipack; Edition of 500. Essential.
Nick Soulsby writes: "You need to tell the world how you feel and all you think is -- The electric guitar stands as analogue to the cathedral: a blown-out shell echoing with imposing history, lineage, collapse and eternal potential. Amaury has conjured a haunted space inviting us to roam firm structures torn to chaotic edges; glimpsed hardness grown over organic and lush. The sounds whisked up around us, from the most minimal to the most densely symphonic, remind us we stand in a place dedicated to the profound. Between the instrument and the image stands the man himself. Amaury's approach throughout I Feel Like A Bombed Cathedral speaks to his memories and lived experience -- graduation from the classical conservatory in western Paris, his discovery of the guitar at age fourteen, his lifelong quest to infuse this instrument with fresh life. I Feel Like A Bombed Cathedral is a testament to the past, to desecrated presents, and to the sacred horizon that is the future -- The unchanging future which is always hope of change."

A new project from Lu Edmonds (PiL, Mekons, The Damned, et al.) and Mark Roberts (The Godfathers, D-Ream, Neneh Cherry, et al.) -- a multilingual spoken-word album, a musical hear-play ("hörspiel") exploring the underbelly of modern life, alternative histories and the allegedly imminent take-over of the world by artificial intelligence. In a loose nod to German radio-plays of the 1920s, the album Hörspiel uses semi-random texts culled from the interweb, performed by synthetic speech-robots using questionable online machine translations (Chinese, Russian, French, English, Tuvan, Japanese, German, Hindi, Spanish, Turkish etc.) while Blabbermouth provide a soundtrack of ambient, industrial, pop, world, folk, free improv soundscape, and post-punk.

Capri-Batterie is a trio comprised of Kordian Tetkov on drums, Tim Sayer on trumpet and electronics, and Matthew Lord on bass and saxophone. With an unrestricted approach to improvisation that embraces the philosophy of "freedom", as an affront to oppression in all its modern-day manifestations. If you think you have heard improvised music, think again. Stewart Lee should need no introduction, as undoubtedly the most original stand-up comedian in more than 30 or so years. He is also a highly regarded writer and director. Stewart has been involved in numerous interesting musical projects and maintains a strong association with the avant-garde and improvised scene. It's not often that something can genuinely be described as "unique". This can be though, there is nothing like it. Anywhere. Edition of 500.

In 1982 The New Blockaders self-released their debut LP Changez Les Blockeurs, an edition of only 100. Steven Stapleton (Nurse With Wound) was the very first person to purchase/hear the album and subsequently distributed copies via United Dairies. The LP has since attained a somewhat mythical/legendary status and 2017 was the 35th anniversary of its original release. In celebration of this, The New Blockaders invited Stapleton to rework the original, which is now available in all its glory as NWW Play 'Changez Les Blockeurs'. Includes a bonus track not on the LP and new artwork by Babs Santini.
