Limited restock, last copies. For his first album, Parisian producer Nicky Lars returns to his roots by drawing his samples and his inspiration from Afro-Caribbean music. The album, evocatively titled Musica Negra, can be heard as a discussion of the place of Africa and the black man in society. Conscious and musical, this one will appeal to fans of both Afrobeat and hip-hop. Black music has no borders, alternately shifting from Brazil to the Caribbean islands, from Nicky's studio in Paris to Nigeria. The album features guest appearances from British rapper Ty, pianist and producer Buddy Sativa, flutist CĂ©lia Wa, and many others.
