DJ MC, aka Mario Cooper, comes from the Southside of Chicago was first introduced to the world outside of footwork's inner circle through Planet Mu's second episode of the legendary Bangs & Works compilation in November 2011. One of the collection's most remarkable and memorable tracks, "Y Fall", made it very clear that Mario Cooper plays in his own league. DJ MC is part of the movement's second generation comprising such heavyweights as DJ Roc and EQ Why, a group who could be dubbed the Fruity Loops wizards. Countless times he appeared spinning tunes at the scene's long-lasting core event, Battlegroundz. After quite a few digital EPs on various labels and on his own Bandcamp page, Duck N' Cover present his first release on vinyl. This monster of a record comprises 11 tracks on two sides, has an ultra-fast pace as it contains tracks lasting from one-and-a-half minutes to two-and-a-half minutes, which makes it demanding material for the DJ, no time to sleep. Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster ride. This record is a snapshot which offers its listeners a look into the culture's innermost workings, from the producer's point of view the track game is just as quick as the dance moves. DJ MC's footwork is very much rooted in hip-hop and rap. This given fact adds a very classic and classy touch to all of his output. Experience a modern day masterpiece and tune in to the Lowend Jungle. "Scary Horror" features DJ Roc.

Double-LP version. With Footwork Or Die, Chicago's own DJ Diamond returns to the spotlight with a strongly infectious and deep masterpiece, a worthy successor to his debut album Flight Muzik (2011). 2013 saw the release of a reloaded extended version of Flight Muzik, titled First Class Flight Mix, and now in 2016, Duck N' Cover Records bring more of DJ Diamond's outstanding music to the ears of a wide audience. With his first album, DJ Diamond, aka Karlis Griffin, made clear that he is one of the footwork scene's most original producers, with a very distinctive style of his own that is not replicable. The epic quality and deepness of some of the brightest moments on Flight Muzik are back and, in some cases, even topped on Footwork Or Die. An important factor that made DJ Diamond a local legend, long before the debut album was available, is the apparent musicality of his productions. The style lends itself to outsiders, but doesn't compromise on the frenzy that is needed to bring the footworkers the necessary heat. A hybrid, only a genius mind can fabricate. Experience once again, a beautifully sequenced album featuring Duck N' Cover Records notoriously stylish artwork. A perfectly well-balanced compilation of deep and hard hitting material, bearing the mark of a classic album that will stand the test of time.

Traxman, the originating footwork DJ and producer, is now constantly touring Europe, Asia, and the States. Member of Teklife and mastermind of Tekk DJ'z, he is most famous for his classic Da Mind of Traxman series on Planet Mu, begun in 2012 -- not to mention the ghetto house tracks he's released since. In 2015, he released Birds Not Bitches on UK label Albion Records and 5000 on Berlin's Dizzy Tunes. With Slash Time, Traxman returns in full footwork battle glory with an extension -- or, better yet, an upgrade -- to the highly acclaimed EP of the same name released in 2014 on Duck N' Cover. This is not Da Mind of Traxman Vol 3; this is not not a follow-up to Teklife, his great album on Lit City; this is Traxman's most personal and intimate album to date. Each of his releases has made people turn their heads, surprised and stunned at the quality, soul, musicianship, and inspiration, and this one is no different. Taking on a rough edge, this is an accurate document of what it means to grow up, live, and DJ in the projects of Chicago. Beats and cuts sharp as a knife; snares and synths like gunfire. Five tracks feature fellow Tekk DJ'z member and good friend DJ Fred. CD includes six extra tracks.

After his highly acclaimed debut album The Crack Capone (Planet Mu, 2010), widely considered an all-time footwork classic, DJ Roc returns with a follow-up mini-album titled Practice What U Preach. Roc is one of the main DJs at the weekly Battlegroundz meet-ups in Chicago's South Side, where the different crews and dancers flesh out who is the coldest in the game. This special release gives a very good impression of what is happening musically in the eye of the storm. It's a collection of eight pure battle tracks, made without compromise, yet its variety of modes and moods is breathtaking. This is an excellent release for anyone looking to dig deeper into footwork's vast landscape of infinite possibilities and enjoy the raw energy of one of today's most exciting electronic dance music styles.

DJ Clent, Chicago's low-end legend, after a few seminal releases on Dance Mania and the 2014 Hyper Feet EP on Planet Mu, returns with his first full-length album, Last Bus to Lake Park, on Duck n' Cover Records, the world's one and only 100% footwork vinyl label. The stakes are high and so is the sound: epic, acidy, deep, driving, ferocious, soulful. It's a classic Chicago record all the way, deeply rooted in the windy city's thriving legacy, showing why it was there where house music was born, and proving that in 2015 it still is the hottest place for challenging and forward-thinking electronic dance music. Sixty-five minutes of pure footwork mayhem, playing in the same league as DJ Rashad, DJ Spinn, Traxman, and RP Boo, and a great listening album as well. DJ Clent is an original, and nobody can imitate his influential style, though hundreds of young producers have tried -- he's still the deepest. Features guest appearances from DJ Milton, RP Boo, DJ Puncho, and Majik Myke.
