"A remarkable document of a live performance recorded on September 11th, 2003 at No, 20 warehouse, Nagoya Port, Japan. The sounds heard in this recording were created by Kiyoharu's application of dry ice to four steel tables which were heated by candles. No electronic processing or post-production editing of the performance was done. Lethe/Kiyoharu Kuwayama is known for creating and recording work in highly resonant spaces or charged atmospheres (abandoned warehouses, Shinto temples, etc). Kiyoharu is also known for his involvement with the duo Kuwayama - Kijima (Kiyoharu Kuwayama: cello, and Rina Kijima: violin) who are formidable players, so well attuned to each other that their improvisations cannot be distinguished from highly complex compositions. With a particular interest in ambient sound and locations that inspire improvisation, they take advantage of the natural reverb of each location (under a bridge at night, an abandoned warehouse), and even change their position while playing to create beautiful and charged performances."

"Kraig Grady is a composer/decomposer/sound explorer. Since 1975 he has pursued the formation of ensembles of acoustic microtonal instruments of his own design/modification to explore an interaction with environmental spaces, the contextual influence of visionary space, and psychoacoustical pitch phenomena. Seeing personal fulfillment as not possible within the confines of specialization, he has also engaged extensively as a shadow puppeteer, tuning theorist, filmmaker, world music radio DJ and concert promoter. His compositions often include interactions with his own silent films and shadow plays. Despite the fact that the nature and size of his instruments make touring difficult and rare, his work has been presented at Ballhaus Naunyn Berlin (Germany), the Chateau de la Napoule (France), the Norton Simon Museum of Art (Los Angeles), the Institute of Modern Art (Brisbane), and the Pacific Asia Museum. Generally it has been within reach of his locales where he engages in most of his activities."

"Bruckmann and Block's creative relationship dates back to the recording of Block's 1999 release Pure Gaze, shortly after both artists entered into Chicago's vibrant experimental music community. Their decision to create a collaborative duo ensued, but remained in the realm of good intentions until shortly before Bruckmann's relocation to the San Francisco Bay Area. They then began playfully stockpiling sounds from a myriad of sources, collecting field material, and recording duo improvisations in various spaces using hallway intercom systems and unorthodox microphone placements, among other processes and techniques. This initial activity was followed by five years of collaborative editing, processing and mixing, resulting in the emergent expanse that is Teem."

"Jim Denley and Kim Myhr met in Sydney in early 2007, and Systems Realignment was recorded six months later. Since then the duo has done numerous concerts in Europe and Australia. Systems Realignment is not only a completely new take on guitar/saxophone combinations, but an attempt to rethink their fundamental musical methodology. There is an interest in materiality, almost at a primitive level, without being embarrassed to work with resulting harmonic structures. Frequency and rhythm is examined, but not within conventional grids. Perhaps the positivity of the result, comes from the project not rejecting other musics, but embracing elements from a vast range of sources ranging from traditional to contemporary and electronic music. The result is a lush and surprising flurry of acoustic, electronic and mechanical gestures."
