"Nedelle Torrisi is a singer with a voice for the ages and a songwriter who would fit in at the Brill Building. Her most recent album Advice from Paradise is the brainchild of Torrisi and producer Kenny Gilmore, guitarist / keyboardist /drummer / secret-musical-mastermind with Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti. Gilmore plays most of the instruments on Advice, a labor of love more than two years in the making, cut between tours and other engagements. Let us be clear: this all-heart, no-gimmick album is truly excellent. Nedelle's songcraft harkens to a time when albums were albums, songs had structure, anyone could sing them. Rich in emotion, neither retro nor particularly modern, Advice from Paradise suggests a timeless midway point between Carole King and Sade. Best known as the lead singer of Cryptacize, Nedelle has also sung on albums by Ariel Pink, Dev Hynes, and Sufjan Stevens, and opened tours for Julia Holter, Deerhoof, of Montreal, Magnolia Electric Co., Destroyer, Xiu Xiu, Jens Lenkman, and Fiery Furnaces. In her spare time, Nedelle writes a romance advice column at advicefromparadise.com."

"Like a (colorful simile), Spenking is Spencer Kingman making his vinyl debut after more than a decade of (way of saying house shows/DIY venues) and playing with Dirty Projectors, Flaspar, Viking Moses, Low Skies, Deer Tick, Castanets and Jana Hunter. Kingman sings lively, unencumbered melodies in a lovely high-register over inventive guitar work. His arrangements are direct and sparse. This inviting, intimate sound is contrasted with dense rhyming lyrics charged with an obscure sense of catastrophe, disorientation, and dread. Recommended for fans of the Harry Smith Folk Anthology, Patti Smith, Gil-Scott Heron, The Mamas and the Papas, Rufus Wainwright, Leonard Cohen, and Diane Cluck. Another high quality vinyl release from Ethereal Sequence Records (Konrad, Paula)."

"Paula is David Carriere, member of Tops, whose debut Tender Opposites came out last year from Arbutus Records. Originally (and still) a name-your-price download, Paula's Relaxed Fit is air-conditioned pop music that is unmistakably contemporary. This limited vinyl edition features two fresh new exclusive tracks, 'Black Acura' and 'Totally Nice.' Ethereal Sequence is proud to present Relaxed Fit."
