"Fusiphorm is an old friend of the Goosehound family and his House Hunting EP was among the first records we wanted to put out on the label. After an assortment of snags and delays we are finally able to present this long awaited record showcasing the craftsmanship of Fusiphorm. Housed is a tune that engulfs the listener in its peculiar atmosphere. A pattering percussion works its way around tones emanating from hollowed out instruments. The drums quickly kick in, and a gigantic mix of sound comes to life building up to a steady tinker toy rhythm nestled in a buzz of melody all bent under the will of Fusiphorm. Following this is a revised version of Fusiphorm's 'Trapped in a Nap,' simply re-titled 'Trapped.' A haunting interlude with soft, deep textural percussion making for a nice reprise from the banging main floor techno. On the B side, Nicholas Sauser provides his own interpretation of 'Housed.' Sauser takes this tune into a dark tropical direction and Lisann contributes vocal nuances that flicker in, out and over the tribal rhythms. A little bit glitchy. A little bit hard. A remix with just the right balance."

"Anthony Steele's vinyl debut, on Goosehound's sixth release. His first release is a monster summer record that will lead the listener on a journey through many different styles. Steele's understanding of crafting a groove is truly intuitive. He has a firm grasp of what makes great dance music, while also being able to uniquely engage the imagination and instill visions of new landscapes to discover. 'Sugar' begins the record with a sonic wind blowing around us, picking up force as the needle travels towards the center. Casio breakbeats keep a steady rhythm and gain complexity along with the other background sounds that start to echo in. From within the expansive sounds we can hear other elements creep in like the ringing of a mechanical bird or the melodic blast of a wandering saxophone. The track ventures along with low down bass while building towards it's almost pop-edged finale which proves quite exhilarating."

"Goosehound returns after a nice winter nap with the sophisticated and strange Freak They Minds EP. Sergio Giorgini and Ben Parris, collectively known as Benjaminz, deliver the quintessential Goosehound sound on this vinyl slab. Twisting together late night grooves with a messed up house music feel, Benjaminz create a mood that is lush and deep. Lee Curtiss was kind enough to serve up a top notch remix for the release. The first track, 'Psychedelic Shortbus,' leads the record off with sifting percussion and intermittent pitched vocal snippets. The tune plods along, making its way into your head with building hits, kicks and hats. On the flip we have the great jam that is 'Misters Before Sisters.' The same sense of time and space present in 'Psychedelic Shortbus' also exists here while a strong bass-line swings the music from side to side."

"David Last and Segeke met in Japan in 2005, and began collaborating on dancefloor tracks via email (David lives in New York City, Segeke in Osaka). Pocket Pet's music is aimed squarely at the dancefloor, while creating a unique, sometimes complex, and often bizarre sonic world. On 'Wesendit EP,' Segeke's influence can be heard in the subtly housey flavor and immaculate sound design of 'With You,' and David's influence can be felt in the syncopated percussion and strange voice sounds of 'Shaky Hands.' Put together, their sounds rock bells. They continue to produce tracks at breakneck speed, together and in their own solo projects. The Suffragettes offer a heady dubbed-out rework of the 'Wesendit' on track number three."

"The Suffragettes, a quartet based out of Japan, will kick start the launch of Goosehound with the Gunsi EP. The abstract and intricate beat structure of their vivid creations illustrates their ingenious and unprecedented disposition, which in sequence best represents the aesthetics of Goosehound. Bold and daring, each track forces the mind to embark on a conceptual journey satisfying cravings for angular adventures, both on the dance floor and in the comfort of your own home. Goosehound 01 features four tracks each constructed with mind-bending percussion and strategic clicks nuzzled in staggering basslines and relentless beats."
