ITG 006EP

Norwegian producer and DJ Marius Circus is back on his In The Garden imprint with Had No Clue, accompanied by remixes from Matt Karmil and Anton Klint. "Had No Clue" leads here, a sun-drenched slice of dropped tempo house fueled by bubbling Arps, choppy resonant synth licks, airy atmospherics, and soft bumpy rhythms. Matt Karmil steps up with a remix of "Had No Clue", stripping things back to a soft, ethereal feel. The original of "Tyst" follows with chugging square-wave bass, dynamically evolving twinkling arpeggios, and crunchy drums before Anton Klint's remix rounds out the package, edging into darker realms.

Norwegian producer Marius Circus pushes on with the third release on his own label. The "Original Mediterranean Version" takes the lead on the release and sees Circus deliver a dropped-tempo Balearic-tinged composition fueled by emotive plucked string sequences, chugging bass hooks, and bumpy organic percussion. Sentrall Records very own Rollmottle, one half of Project Sandro, steps up to deliver his take on "Shorelines" to follow, offering up his own sun-drenched twist on things via smooth chords and loosely flowing percussion alongside dubby delay swells and intricately programmed synth work.

Oslo DJ Marius Circus releases on his own In The Garden label. The title track "Veggepysj" is a chugging midnight affair, with swirling arps, a driving bassline, and dreamy pads. "Mellow Johnny's", is a somewhat more Balearic affair. Yet, it still has Marius Circus's undeniable personal twist, with off-kilter percussion and weird textures. The flip sees long-time friend, Full Pupp kingpin, and one of the world's finest DJs, Prins Thomas, turn the title track into a nine-minute dance floor monster. Thomas manages to take it up several notches, while still keeping the original's charm present.

Oslo DJ Marius Circus launches his own label, In The Garden. Marius Circus twiddles most of his machines on the title track. It's a piece of proper Viking rave, obviously referencing everyone's favorite space janitor. Sean Johnston of Hardway Bros fame takes on the title track. He tweaks it into a proper groover, with a slightly darker and moodier vibe. "Amateur Time Travels" is a more mellow number, with dreamy synths, marimbas, and off-kilter percussion. Fellow Oslo resident Øyvind Morken takes on "Movements". The Moonlighting boss provides a great version with chugging beats, synthesizer lines, and bouncy percussion.
