LOVEIT 005EP
|
Next up on LOVEiT is head honcho JK himself, presenting a fine tune reminiscent of '90s French house, "Reminiscence". With his remix, Italian Jo Pariota transforms the track into a veritable Detroit house groover. JK's "Being Neglected As An Artist" is a moody deep house affair including jazzy keys. The "Rare Sun Recall Mix" by .WS takes you places: riding out on an up-tempo tribal beat, it slowly starts to fall apart before vanishing into ambient bliss.

This record comes with a version for every time and mood of a club night: "Jo Pariotas Cut" of the original mix is the ideal warm-up tune. Flowing on a synth line that calls Mike Huckaby's Waldorf to mind, it is sweet and driving at the same time. The "Original Mix" by LOVEiT's own Nico Brun might be called "Casual Affair", but it comes rolling on a phat wonky Rhodes that brings the groove. The "JK & LDS Reduction" is punchy, minimal, and dubby. Finally, the "A.S.S. Amnesia Returns Mix" is something else entirely.

Lds kicks thing off with "909 To Heaven", a jacking and Balearic workout. "Snares, Kicks & Rhodes" is a more laid back jam. Lazy warm pads and a slow winding sub bass rise and fall intermittently only to be interrupted by a lo-fi distorted bass. Nico Brun opens the flip side with an absolute banger, hazily reminiscent of '90s warehouse rave. Lds and Nico Brun close the EP with an atmospheric collaboration - splashy beats keep up the footwork whilst pulsating synth sounds slowly wind together and drop with a beautifully crafted sample.

"LOVEiT's second release is perfect for both festivals and dusty basements. Suolcity is a young producer from Stuttgart, where house music thrives. He could probably feel it as intern at Rocker 33. That would explain the dubby, gritty bassline of 'Rush.' If it's not hard enough for you, try 'Rush Harder' -- you can have it all. The jazzy attitude of 'Early Morning Jam' recalls hip-hop jams, and 'November' delivers a great atmosphere with groovy chords and bumpy drums for deep moments. A great homage to the best side of the '90s!" --Prinz Eugen

Stuttgart's Nico Brun shows his young heart's passion for house music with his debut Deeper EP. The title track rolls warm through the listener's mind and hypnotizes with a prayer to house. "Bobb" has a bassline that just makes the listener move -- no excuse. The best kind of four on the floor madness. Nick Beringer's dubby touch perfectly leads the night into the morning light. No matter where you are -- Chicago, Paris, or Stuttgart -- you will love it.
