"Billy Gomberg (b 1979, Chicago) is a musician and video artist living in Brooklyn, New York. His studio practice incorporates analog synthesis, digital treatments, acoustic recordings and custom programming that gives rise to electronic sound caught gazing at its own physicality, acoustics in love with their own abstraction. Billy's debut CD release displays abstract and complex dimensions of texture and tone that might make more sense at first on a subconscious level before it will on a conscious one. Therefore, it is advised to first approach this music from a pure listening standpoint, free from preconceived notions of musical structure and form since it can defy such prosaic logic. Billy has exhibited work or performed in New York, Boston, Providence, London, Lisbon, Graz, and Zurich to name a few, plus he was one of the artists featured at the first and/OAR label showcase event in New York City during February of 2009."

"...and so the new mOAR subdivision of and/OAR starts off its CD release schedule on a happy-go-lucky note with Untree by Italian project Mou, Lips! (Andrea Gabriele, from Pirandelo and formerly of Tu m') with various tracks featuring Emanuela De Angelis, Stephen Vitiello, Jara Queeto, Marita Cosma and Ivan Solano. Untree displays Gabriele's well-honed ability to weave a complex mix of seemingly incompatible elements, instruments and musical influences into cohesive and unified song-like structures while always keeping one root firmly planted in the soil of the electronic avant garde. This is certainly an album that will keep revealing new aspects of itself with each successive listen while inspiring a good mood to shine through the clouds of a psychologically cold and rainy day." --DL, and/OAR; "For point of reference, the mOAR catalog will appeal to those who appreciate music on recording labels like 12k, Spekk, Anticipate, Dekorder, Lucky Kitchen, Baskaru, Bip Hop, Headz, Plop, etc, etc."
