Nervous Horizon are back with the second in a series of quick-fire EP releases, this time in the form of Ehua's Aquamarine -- her first EP proper for the label after contributing a track ("Meteora") to 2019's NH Vol.3 compilation. Following hot on the heels of SIM's dancehall-inflected Terminate EP, Aquamarine details five new tracks inspired by both the color and motion of water. With tempos ranging from 95-140bpm, Ehua also uses custom made percussive samples and original vocals -- spoken thoughts in reversed Italian on "Black" -- to harness different motions and states, collecting thoughts on organisms, frequencies and vibrations that we might not be aware of or perceive. These ideas and concepts take shape via a rich and experimental, five-track workflow that moves between the dark, sludgy broken-beats of "Xantho" through to the unnerving, drone techno of "Diatom" -- a track written to mirror the darkest depths of the ocean.

Burgeoning club label Nervous Horizon kick start their 2019 with the release of DJ Plead's debut EP for the label, Pleats Plead EP. Comprised of six, hard-hitting, hi-impact club tracks, Pleats Plead EP taps into the Nervous Horizon DNA fully and feels like a natural extension of TSVI's critically-acclaimed debut album, Inner Worlds, released back in November 2018. Based in Melbourne, Plead's Lebanese heritage inspires much of his output, resulting in steely, powerful drum work-outs often spiked with the rhythms and timbres of Lebanese pop and traditional Lebanese wedding music. Blending these with a hybrid mix of contemporary RnB, hard-drum and other more breakout dance styles, Plead's music is instantly recognizable and, as evidenced by his storming debut EP Get In Circle on Air Max 97's Decisions label, is now regarded as one of club music's unique new talents. On Pleat's Plead EP, he pushes his sound further than ever before too, stripping individual elements back to deliver a record bursting with boisterous, industrial energy. Under the guidance of label heads TSVI and Wallwork, he embeds his signature palette -- Lebanese flutes, Mijwiz, vocal samples, and subtle padwork -- within a ruff-and-tuff drum-track framework, keeping things breathless from start to finish.

Following a stellar run of recent releases including best-of-year EPs from the likes of DJ Plead and DJ JM, Nervous Horizon are back with their first record of 2020m a unique new collaborative EP by object blue and label co-head, TSVI. Hyperaesthesia EP details four sweltering new club tracks -- described by the pair as "body music" -- that mesh together object blue's widescreen, experimental club tones and TSVI's borderless percussive styles. "I was curious to see how TSVI and I could merge our sounds, whether we could supplement each other without eclipsing one another, and I'm so happy with the result," explains object blue. "I never thought I could write with somebody else but this happened so easily. It's been a liberating process, just a pure pursuit of fun, yelling in our chairs when we dropped the beat." Inspired by "ever-present conversations about machines and sentience", the EP's mechanical crux plays out in the narrative of the tracks too; from a sense of machines "waking up" on near eight-minute opener "Thought Experiment" to the frantic, processing energy of "Turing Machine". The record also comes complete with a special remix by Loraine James and vinyl-only bonus track, "Syntax". Hyperaesthesia EP follows a fruitful 12 months for both object blue and TSVI: Following the release of her breakthrough debut EP, Do You Plan To End A Siege?, for Tobago Tracks back in 2018, object blue has since become one of dance music's most crucial new artists.

Lithuanian producer Mantas Povilaika, aka DJ JM, has announced new five-tracker, No Days Off EP -- his inaugural record for blossoming club label, Nervous Horizon. After first starting to emerge on the London club scene radar back in 2015, Nervous Horizon label heads TSVI and Wallwork played some early JM material at their debut London Boiler Room session in 2016, sparking a relationship that has since birthed collaborations on TSVI EPs Sacred Drums (NH 005EP, 2016) and Rambo (NH 007EP, 2018). After releasing a further two full EPs on NKC's hard drum label Even The Strong, No Days Off EP forms a natural extension of his work with TSVI, only this time more extensive and detailed. From the anthemic, late '90s euphoria of the title-track to the searing club energy of "Mad Move" featuring TSVI to the dark, pulsing techno flicker of "Bar Bell", it is an EP forged at peak time and only tempered by mystical EP closer, "Original Taste" -- a track inspired by local Lithuanian club sounds and faraway worlds.

2016 release. Hefty new grime tackle that has been getting a thorough hammering on Rinse FM in recent months finally sees light of the day backed by a further six tracks of chip-tuned, SNES remembering bass music. Lloyd SB is a leading light at LDN's Boxed nightclub; purveyors of that hybrid sound which namechecks Mr. Mitch, Oil Gang, and Logos as its flame carriers. Here SB brings the raw fire in a blaze of modulated synth, wobbly bass, and heavy compression to frighten the woofers.

2016 release. Following transmissions from the likes of TSVI and Wallwork & RZR, experimental club label Nervous Horizon rack up a six-tracker from Lokane. "Visions" is a percussive laser jam that just can't stay still, even with the introduction of placid synths. "Body Double" plays on a similar contrast between calm and frantic, with the percussion a mix between Jersey club and the mechanical grime of Bloom. "In The Trap" brings the ballroom vibes, while DVA's "Soule Power" re-fix of the same track is a weird broken beat machine funk take that brings some lightness into the room.

2016 release. Previous EPs on Houndstooth, Aus Music, and R & S Records, UK techno and bass producer Second Storey joins rapidly expanding club label, Nervous Horizon. Second Storey, through a string of hard-hitting EPs since 2014, is known for his dark and explorational style, so a release on Nervous Horizon seems a perfect match. Tight production and a distressed sound, Spin Cycle EP sees Second Storey play with twisted tech samples and obscure, distressed drum patterns, to create a collection of tracks that defy genre, but still sound crisp and blunt. Stand out track, the distressed techno bass sounds of "Sludge 3D".

2018 release. Nervous Horizon presents TSVI's debut album: Inner Worlds. The album is about reconnecting to one's true self and the discovery of the inner worlds: it is born from an ongoing artistic journey, which began in TSVI's childhood. The artist grew up with parents who practice Hinduism, which is quite unusual for an Italian family. In most recent times he was hugely inspired by his partner's religious and musical background, after she exposed him to Middle Eastern music and Sufi ideologies. TSVI started creating tracks that were influenced by belly dance percussionists such as Emad Sayyah and Hossam Ramzy, combined with dancehall, Tarraxo, and trance. The album is largely influenced by the role of music in transcendental Sufi practices and resembles an inner journey through different states of meditation and self-discovery. Vedic and Tantric knowledge are also important here. Each track is a state of mind from the opening one, "Root", to the last one, "Crown", as they represent the first and last Chakras and all the other states found in-between. Get ready to embark on a journey through mind, body, and soul. Features Miragal, Luru, and WWWINGS.

2018 release. Inspired by a fluid mix of global club sounds including UK funky, kuduro, techno, and rap, Nervous Horzion co-head TSVI releases Rambo EP. Comprised of six tracks, including collaborations with DJ JM and fellow Nervous Horizon boss, Wallwork, as well as a bonus remix from Luru, Rambo EP details how TSVI's sound continues to evolve, taking on bold new shapes in the process. A natural extension of 2016 EP, Sacred Drums (NH 005EP), here he scopes out fresh influences that can be felt right the way through the track list. From the blaring kuduro flavors on opener "Pull Up" to outright UK funky club jam, "Funky T" and sparse, frenetic drum workout "Roller", TSVI meshes together a network of powerful, drum-centered tracks. Features from DJ JM and Wallwork bring new focus to his work too, with "Jaguar" -- a cranking, off-piste drum exercise hit by bursts of sharp, metallic synth melodies and zapping bass stabs -- spotlighting inventive sound design and brilliantly abstract thinking. A bold marker for a producer already at the top of his game, Rambo EP forms a perfect lift-off point for one of the UK's most exciting young club labels.

2016 release. Nervous Horizon co-head TSVI returns to the label after his 2015 debut with a collection of ruff n ready club bumpers that emanate the raw energy of UK funky and gqom in equal measure. Now based in London, the Italian producer continues down that path which has brought him to wider appeal -- one of no-frills drum workouts punctuated with nifty sample touches and bursts of melody. He calls upon NH associates Luru and DJ JM to collaborate on the final two tracks respectively. "Aziza" is as good an example on how TSVI and the Nervous Horizon crew generally are looking to re-shape club music.

2015 release. London imprint Nervous Horizon comes up with the goods for the second time, following their debut outing from Wallwork & RZR with a rugged release from TSVI on his Set You Free EP. The title cut opens with a bottomless 4/4 thump before deploying heavy depth charges with brittle industrial percussion, following by the militaristic stomping session of "Headshot" and tenacious swing of "Black Dog" featuring Luru. Flipside, Lokane takes a turn on "Headshot" infusing a dubbier edge, whereas Luru's take builds a stiff tension together with a battery of grating, industrial drums.
