RAAM 007-7EP
|
RAAM reveal a more powerful and rawer side to his production on this EP that's deep and explores techno themes. Rolling, rhythmic bassline and flickering synth lines over tight drums on "7", stab synths rise out of the raw depths on "77". On the flip "7" get a remix treatment by Skudge who transforms the track into a raw and dubby techno tool. The EP ends with "777", a beatless melancholic track with emotionally and fuzzing pads that drifts towards the horizon.

RAAM 006EP

Raam dives deeper into the deep house universe with the immaculate production and sound quality of Raam 006. The EP opens with "Titled," which is the perfect marriage between a warm bassline, rolling percussion, and fragile, wobbly chords, before Raam digs even deeper into raw analog territory with "Const" and "Austre." As always on the Raam imprint, there's also an up-tempo gem that fits perfectly into any peak-hour set -- this time in the form of a remix delivered by Qnete (Lobster Theremin, 777, etc.), who redesigns "Const" into an acidic banger that ends up in a frantic acidic peak before returning to deep lushness.

Raam is back with a solid four tracker. The EP starts with "Ment" which is a raw and jacking deep house track. A big rolling bassline, drum machine grooves and melancholy pads create that special house feeling. "Lipslide" is a sublime and disco-ish house track with dubby chords and bubbly synths that slowly but surely unfolds into a serious groove. "Ment" gets a remix treatment from Samo DJ and Alexi3d. They transform the original into gritty and percussive techno trip. The EP ends with "Ask" which is a slow house-not-house track.

RAAM 004EP

Raam is back with a killer EP, moving deeper into his gritty and heavy soundscapes with influences from both Detroit and Chicago. "Alvar" is a straight-up chord-driven banger, with classic 909 drum patterns. "Unfold" is a warm, spaced-out Chicago track, reminiscent of Boo Williams. "Brink" has that magic disco flair; woofing basses and sparkling pads create a shimmering atmosphere. This track is perfect to play whenever, wherever.

RAAM 003EP
|
Raam follows his two previous EPs (RAAM 001EP, 2014; RAAM 002EP, 2015) with some warm, gritty, analog fuzz. On the heavy, chord-driven "Padme," a thick synth stab builds up over a tight 909 beat and wooden percussion to a big crescendo -- a peak-time techno banger. With his remix of "Padme," Art Alfie of the mighty Karlovak label dubs out the synth stab so it rolls like distant thunder over a fat, chunky beat. The result is a fine, dark, driving house track that really works the club. "Crest" is a warm, deeply floating house track with a subtle disco flair.

RAAM 002EP
|
Raam is back with Raam 002, on which he delivers the massive "Hidden," a classic dub-driven techno banger. With its stabby synths and 4/4 rhythm, it's devastating on the dancefloor. On the flip, "Hidden" gets a remix treatment from the talented Baba Stiltz (Studio Barnhus). Baba buries the original in a deeper, gritty journey. The EP ends with "Pallas," which is a slow and raw house track with a moody atmosphere.

RAAM 001EP
|
First out on Raam Records is a three-track 12" by label-founder and acclaimed producer and DJ Elias Raam himself. "Oblique" is a slow, warm techno track worthy of any Theo Parrish DJ-set. "Third Rail" which is an oscillating shuffler with Detroit influences, pumping a pad deep down your basement. "Devious" brings a different flavor to the record with an epic arpeggio and live bass, all held into place by disco-not-disco drum programming.
