ZAÄAR is a Belgian collective, twin project of Neptunian Maximalism, the cosmic free-jazz orchestra that has been turning the heads of psychedelic, experimental and space ambient music lovers. Composed by singer and multi-instrumentalist Guillaume CZLT, saxophonist Jean-Jacques Duerinckx, drummer Sébastien Schmit, bassist HP Desrosiers and the electronics of Didier Nietzsche, the group produces a psychedelic free-jazz soaked in droning-ambient, which awakens and stimulates old and forgotten senses since humanity lives in a grey and industrialized reality. Through the music of ZAÄAR, listeners return to a time when everything was new, dangerous and exciting. Welcome to the jungle! Ovules is a series of improvisations performed by ZAÄAR in various spaces all over the kingdom of Belgium. Ovules is a triptych inspired by Tchouang-Tseu's fable "The dream of the butterfly" about dream and reality reciprocity. Ovules is a surrealist jazz manifest due to a collaboration between labels WV Sorcerer Productions and Subsound Records and the preacher of the band's first proper studio album. Limited Edition 7"-6-panel trifold cover with OBI.

Ainu is a Genoese cinematic sludge/post-doom trio established in 2021. Ainu is a concept record that moves between powerful and stirring soundscapes, building up at a slow but steady pace between psychedelia and post-metal, stemming from the Genoa trio's passion for cinema and their close relationship with the sea, its stories and creatures. Featuring special appearances from Lili Refrain as well as Francesco Bucci (Ottone Pesante) and Giorgio Nattero (Carcharodon), this album is an intense, emotionally dense experience that uses the descriptive foundations of seamen and the calls of huge animals to recall the connection between the sound and the environment. An electrifying cinematic journey for the heart and soul of heavy music lovers.

For over 15 years, Zu's modus operandi of straddling and abusing musical genres has resulted in over fifteen unique album releases across labels such as Ipecac, Atavistic and Headz (Japan). Their experimental amalgam of metal, math, no-wave, noise and electronics, led acclaimed composer John Zorn to describe their sound as "a powerful and expressive music that totally blows away what most bands do these days." In the running for the title of "the world's hardest working band," Zu have performed over 1000 shows throughout Europe, US, Canada, Asia, Russia, Mexico and even Africa, touring with the like of Mike Patton (as the Zu/Patton Quartet), also sharing the stage with Faith No More, Fantômas, The Melvins, Lightning Bolt, Sonic Youth, The Ex, and countless others. They have also collaborated with a vast number of musicians including Mike Patton, The Melvins, Dälek, Jim O' Rourke, FM Einheit (Einsturzende Neubauten), Peter Brötzmann, Nobukazu Takemura, Eugene Robinson (Oxbow), Steve MacKay (The Stooges), The Ex, Thurston Moore, Stephen O Malley, Damo Suzuki (Can), Mats Gustafsson, NoMeansNo, and Joe Lally (Fugazi). Carboniferous is their masterpiece. Originally released on Ipecac in 2009, it includes collaborations with Mike Patton, King Buzzo, and Giulio Ragno Favero.

In January 1999, after years of continuous daily rehearsals, Zu entered the studio to record Bromio. The album was released in October of the same year to immediate and enthusiastic feedback from the press and the public, and a few months later Zu began to play on stages all over Europe. But the band's inexperience in recording work weighed on them, because the impact they had live was not present in the sound of the CD at all. So it was that during the slightly forced hiatus from 2020 onwards, they finally found the time to reopen those recordings, rework them in various ways, resonate some parts and release Bromio 25 years later in a sound that was much closer to the impact and sound system of their live performances. Listening to it again 25 years later, it still sounds fresh and vibrant, not tied to any predetermined genre or fashion of the moment (it is curious and almost comical that they were called "jazzcore" when in fact the basis of their sound drew much more from prog and metal). Enjoy!

Since 1995, orphaned by their previous project, the three founding members of Zu (Jacopo Battaglia, Luca Mai, and Massimo Pupillo) had been hanging out in the historic small room in Piazza Degli Zingari in Rome, every day, all day long, working nights and sometimes sleeping directly in the basement so as not to waste time. Looking for their own voice, without excluding any direction: electronics, tapes, sequencer cello (played by their friend Francesco Chiari), and of course their first iconoclastic outbursts on bass sax and drums. One can obviously hear the shared love for NoMeansNo and Ruins, but much more was already part of Zu's DNA, including an instinctive ability to digest the myriad listens and influences that permeated them, without ever copying anything but transforming everything into their own personal voice. After about two years of intense and continuous rehearsals, this tape was the first demo they sent out, recorded in that room by their friend Giampaolo Felici, with whom they shared that space and with whom years later they would also found Ardecore. The cassette went around so much that the Zu themselves could not find a single copy of it, until one mysteriously reappeared, intact and still perfectly listenable, which transferred and mastered became, more than 25 years later, The Lost Demo.

Pyramid is an instrumental trio hailing from Nuremberg, Germany. Their new album Beyond Borders Of Time is the follow-up to their 2019 debut album. A mesmerizing journey through stoner psychedelia and progressive e instrumental rock, it weaves a kaleidoscopic landscape that unfolds like a sonic travel through time and space. Their craftsmanship and heady grooves make them a must-have for fans of bands like My Sleeping Karma or Yawning Man. The first stones to Pyramid were placed at the house of former singer Steinmetz (Sascha Dametz), together with former drummer Julian Klusacek, bassist Michael Kümpflein, and guitarist Shane Saban. After Klusacek left Germany for Bali and vocalist Steinmetz decided to follow his own path, the band welcomed drummer Lukas Schomann on board, opening the door to the now-trio full potential and helping define their sound. After the release of their debut album in 2019, two European tours, multiple shows and festivals appearances in Germany (including performances alongside Colour Haze and Elder), Pyramid is now ready to unfold its magical seven-tracker Beyond Borders of Time.

Zolle return with an album where the heavy parts are lovingly heavier and the melodic parts are monstrously more melodic than in the past. Imagine Crowbar on a diet singing the Ramones refrains at an AC/DC show with Metallica as an opening act. "Rosa" is Italian for "pink" but it also refers to the flower itself. Rosa sounds incisive and unconventional, its nine tracks brimming with a buzzing energy and featuring playful vocals and melodies, muscular riffs and highly propulsive drums.

Thomas Greenwood & The Talismans become, through the years, a psychedelic rock band heavily contaminated by '70s influences, the western movies scenario with a neo-psychedelic taste. Founder Thomas Mascheroni (also guitar/voice of stoner trio Humulus) gave birth to the first record in 2021 called Rituals. Entirely self-produced, with Ramble Records from Melbourne and Echodelick Records from Atlanta printing the vinyl. After a long period of wild jams into an old barn on the mountains of lake Iseo, this new record Ateş is ready. Ateş is an imaginary hidden city under the mountains of Turkey. A magical place buried by the time where men found shelter during the hardest environmental catastrophes.

The Cortina Protocol is the sound of these images. Recorded in three days to tape at The Cowshed Studios in North London in early 2021 the album wiretaps the colder veins of '60s and '70s crime soundtracks, weaving tense cinematic atmospheres, hypnotic kraut-isms, and swirling psychedelic funk. Initially influenced by the widescreen aesthetics of Roy Budd, Heliocentrics, John Cameron, Tortoise, DJ Krush, Can, and 23 Skidoo, the album was spontaneously composed, taking many unexpected paths yet creating a cohesive aesthetic throughout. Formed in 2021 by Matthew Rozeik from London experimental duo Necro Deathmort, The Cortina Protocol explores the darker side of cinematic noir. Featuring a fluid cast of like-minded musicians, their debut self-titled album is the first of many deep explorations.

Traum are Luca Ciffo (Fuzz Orchestra), Lorenzo Stecconi (Lento), Luca T. Mai (Zu), and Paolo Mongardi (Zeus!). Traum's first album is the result of almost a month of living together in an old farmhouse, playing, improvising and sharing lives and musical passions. Through a state of presence and mutual listening, the eight tracks that make up this multifaceted album were born: music takes on different forms, guiding the listeners on a journey within themselves. The album is the spontaneous fruit of an impulse to communicate and explore today's reality musically, both internally and externally.

An-Nûr, "light" in Arabic, is The Black Flamingo's first album. Six tracks that go feature obsessive rhythms, lysergic journeys, and stoner blows. "An-Nûr" is also the title of the single, a long trip of black holes and solidarity with Palestinian people. The album was recorded in Rome, in the "cinque quarti" studio, under the patient supervision of Lorenzo. The Black Flamingo is a stoner-psych instrumental trio, with vibes skirting around space and desert and rotten attitude. The band formed in Rome by Erio Destratis (guru and housekeeper), Tiziano Giammichele (Camion, Cielo Drive), and Mattia Lolli (the Whirlings).

The Kotiomkin band was born from a great passion for '60s/'70s/'80s Italian genre cinema, a series of movies characterized by aesthetically innovative approach, in complete opposition to the mainstream and to more or less politicized intellectual cinema of the time. The duo devote themselves to the creation of instrumental soundtracks for non-existent movies, with invented plots featured in the liner notes, having as a reference the classic soundtracks of the time but revisiting them with the violence of the most modern stoner, pushing the boundaries of doom. It is the rediscovery of a never really finished cinematic world that is also celebrated in terms of its extraordinary soundtracks by musicians such as the masters Ennio Morricone, Nico Fidenco, Fabio Frizzi, Franco Micalizzi, Berto Pisano, Lallo Gori, up to bands such as Goblin, Osanna, Libra, Marc 4, and many others. Kotiomkin not only look at horror movies but also at those more niche genres, ranging from erotic, to "giallo," to "poliziottesco," and more extreme subgenres such as cannibal movies, "mondo" movies, or sexploitation, all with a violence of sounds unknown to Italian B-movies.

Doom Jazz II: Deception continues the epic story of the Doom Jazz saga, with Jamie Saft and Bobby Previte trading the slow, sensual lines of Doom Jazz I for a more active, muscular sound. Side One, "The New Friend" and "Everyone is Aware," uses a vintage Yamaha organ to create an atmosphere of mystery and space. Side Two, "Deception," moves into different territory, with Saft's distorted Hammond Organ sailing over Previte's active, commanding tom toms in a blues-based jam of wild ferocity and intense foreboding. The plot thickens.
