Amsterdam based imprint Taped Artifact welcomes Erik Anthony to their label. Here he makes a stellar techno debut with his first solo EP backed with a Vril remix. On "Board Walk", haunting vocal chops combine with droning kick drums for a serious big-room techno jam. "Oclose" brings more soul to the game, subtle basslines and dreamy synths create an uplifting and joyful playground. Vril stirs things up with his take on "Oclose" offering a different energy and his trademark hazy dub-techno twist. "Separate" is an emotive yet powerful techno.

Taped Artifact's label co-founder Kevin Arnemann with Trash Polka. With three original cuts, showcasing the labels characteristic dub-influenced techno sound, the EP is complemented with a remix by Jonas Kopp. Arnemann's Trash Polka EP kicks off with saturated 808-grooves, driven by steady dub-chords and hard-hitting claps. Next, the original track sees a special dub-influenced treatment by Jonas Kopp. "Revertigo" sees Arnemann utilize a rumbling break beat, topped with icy rides, blissful dub chords, and cinematic pads. "Ideology" brings the EP to a close with heavily processed chords and hard-hitting drums.

Kevin Arnemann and Daan Kemp's Taped Artifact record label preps its first release of 2017. Following the label's various artists compilation (2016), the Amsterdam based imprint welcomes two pioneers within the Icelandic techno scene: Ohm and Octal Industries. Ohm earned his stripes through his collaborations with Exos in the early '00s, whilst Octal Industries is a much-respected artist within the IDM scene under his Ruxpin alias. With the highly dub-influenced Maoss EP, the Icelandic duo follows up their recent appearance on Thule Records. The four-tracker features highly textured, rhythmic, and classic-rooted dub techno, showcasing the iconic Icelandic aesthetic.

Matthew Oh eloquently marries dub, techno and house into smooth and sensuous sonic landscapes. The opening track "Psycho Hub" is an atmospheric and spacious roller with dubbed out drums and pads, coupled with incendiary hi-hats urging you along. "Shroud" is seven minutes of slick and spaced out deep techno with liquid synths and clacking hits all racing along and making for a frictionless groove that sucks you right in. Finally, "Get in the Fridge" slows the tempo down and becomes an even more widescreen and roomy roller with suspensory pads, smeared synths and aqueous sonic details.

It's just the Dutchman's third release -- the second on his own label after a 2015 EP from Natan H -- but it's truly a deep and atmospheric offering that takes its cues from many different sounds and scenes.
