TPL 003EP
|
This is the first EP as Love Comedy for Akirahawks and Shingo Suwa, two brilliant Japanese guys living in Berlin. They're both resident DJs at ://about blank and run a label called House Mannequin. Love Comedy mixes their respective personal universes -- Akirahawks is really into disco and house music, whereas Shingo Suwa is fond of techno and acidic vibes.

That Place presents another musical journey through the artist's emotional and inspirational landscape! Lyon, France-based MZKBX (Macadam Mambo, Skylax, Karat), resident at Le Sucre, delivers a taste of his musical roots. "Le vent crépite" is a beautiful intro into a spacy world, and "Saturn's Ring" falls between house and techno with Chicago vibes -- jackin'! On the flip, "Caresses magnétiques" is a track full of pressure, an industrial atmosphere to bring the listener higher and higher! Closer "51 Pegasi" is a nice journey between deep sensations and '80s synths.

That Place's concept is to give a musical tribute to a place that marked the life of the artist. The first release from the label is by VFR (Visitors For Reworks), who, with the first track, puts forward a bass line bounce and acid tones while the instrumental part keeps us in a constant dynamic. The second piece is a journey towards experimentation with electro acid sounds. "Space 2″ is breaky with the lovely flavor of blip techno. "Space 3″ is probably the most dancefloor-appropriate piece on this EP and shows VFR's ability to lend groove and voltage to a song. Includes a version by Flight Of Stairs.
