Maxime Pasquier has teamed up with Romain Rouffiac aka Remain and this is the first single to emerge from this trans-Atlantic collaboration. "Ghoulish" leaves little to the imagination with its propulsive rhythms and needling synths. Sasse tweaked the elements of the storming original, adding a warmth and motorik funk all his own. "Unmanned" serves as a perfect counterpoint. Where "Ghoulish" trades in unmitigated dancefloor energy, "Unmanned" is anxious and uneasy. Darabi turn the track on its head with their stripped-back, syrupy-slow remix.

AKA JK (aka Jonathan Kreinik, New York producer and live sound engineer for The Rapture) presents 2600 2600, the title of which may or may not reference a famous analog synthesizer. Like Kreinik's best production and engineering work, "2600 2600" locates the precarious divide between refined pop brilliance and total dancefloor mayhem. On remix duties, Shit Robot brings his signature minimal disco-house touch to the table, and John Selway presents a more straightforward dancefloor approach. Mugwump's "Italo Broadcast" version includes a re-tweaked bassline and warped-and-gauzed vocals.

"Saarid wishes to promote peace through human understanding, not politics." Those words are literally etched into the vinyl of Saarid's debut single. Fusing '80s drum machines with '90s atmospherics, Saarid has crafted a sound that nonetheless feels like right now. "Fever Dream" and "Bad At Love" are clearly indebted to classic house and rave, but these are not your average retro re-treads. Cosmic Kids' "Sueno Fiebre" mix is suffused with summertime vibes, featuring a solo saxophone performed by Julio from Midnight Magic.

Harkin & Raney present a three tracker of floor-friendly deep house and techno. "Workin And Steamin" sets the vibe with haunting vocals and a chugging deep house groove. "Shakes On" is a melodic and moody bit of NYC house, destined for classic status. Next is a dark and driving dancefloor reinterpretation by Naum Gabo (JG Wilkes of Optimo fame and James Savage). Their version is faithful to the original, yet it twists the vibe into a moody, floor-filling motorik techno groove.

Forward-looking but deeply rooted, Populette is all about dancefloor energy and analog synths -- deep, druggy, and not for the faint-hearted. That's why it was no surprise to Throne Of Blood when they suggested that perhaps the Wizard himself, Gavin Russom, might be keen to do a remix. Gavin opted for cosmic grandiosity rather than dancefloor impact, turning in a mind-melting 12-minute ambient mix that Populette describes as sounding like Jan Hammer and Klaus Schultze jamming together in arpeggio heaven.
