Black vinyl. Released in September 1969, Fleetwood Mac's third studio album, Then Play On, was their first to feature new recruit, 19-year-old guitarist Danny Kirwan, and was their last with Peter Green. Some months following the record release, Green was subjected to drinks spiked with LSD at a party in Germany, leading to his severe mental decline; after a final performance on May 20, 1970, Peter Green left Fleetwood Mac. The marvelous Mr. Green was, however, on hand and truly on form for the band's January 30, 1970 appearance at The Warehouse in New Orleans, where Messrs, Green, Kirwan, Fleetwood, Spencer, and McVie played a stunning set as support to the Grateful Dead. Mac's complete performance was recorded for local broadcast too, and from this source comes this LP featuring one of Fleetwood Mac's finest available live recordings from this period, an era sadly destined to come to a close soon after this quite extraordinary gig.

By their US tour of early 1970 Fleetwood Mac live were combining their love of the blues with extended versions of their own songs, leavened by a smattering of '50s rock n' roll classics. The version of "Rattlesnake Shake" here breaks through the twenty-minute barrier, whilst covers of "Let Me Love You", "Stranger Blues", "Baby Please Set A Date", and "Great Balls Of Fire" never made it on to a studio album. Double vinyl LP recorded for FM radio. Recorded at the Eagles Auditorium, Seattle on January 17th, 1970 and broadcast on KOL-FM. Comes with full credits and extensive sleeve notes.

LP version. "Mr. Wonderful is the second studio album by British blues rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 23 August 1968. This all-blues album was broadly similar to their debut album, albeit with some changes to personnel and recording method. The album was recorded live in the studio with miked amplifiers and PA system, rather than plugged into the board. A horn section was introduced; and Christine Perfect of Chicken Shack was featured on keyboards. In the US, the album was not issued under the name Mr. Wonderful, though around half of the tracks appeared on English Rose."

LP version. "Fleetwood Mac, also known as Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, is the debut studio album by British blues rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 24 February 1968. The album is a mixture of blues covers and originals penned by guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer, who also share the vocal duties. It is the only album by the band without any involvement of keyboardist/vocalist Christine McVie. The release of the album brought the band overnight success; in the UK, the album reached No. 4 and stayed on the charts 37 weeks, despite the lack of a hit single."

Listening to these nine tracks it is hard to believe that this version of Fleetwood Man had only a few weeks left to run. An acid-damaged Peter Green would leave six weeks after this gig and they would never sound this good again. This high-quality BBC recording includes contemporary hits such as "The Green Manalishi" and "Rattlesnake Shake" as well as album tracks featuring the melodic skills of Danny Kirwan ("World In Harmony", "Underway") and some unreleased rockers from Jeremy Spencer ("Tiger", "Great Balls Of Fire"). Full sleeve notes and credits included.

Following the success of Live In Helsinki, this LP continues our documentation of the band's 1969 prowess, showcasing live sets from Oslo and The Hague recorded for Norwegian and Dutch TV respectively. Of the eleven tracks, seven were never recorded on a Fleetwood Mac studio LP. They range from Danny Kirwan's mournful "One Sided Love" through to an ebullient "Tallahassee Lassie". The final track is a lengthy "Rattlesnake Shake" which, as Mick Fleetwood explains in the sleeve notes, indicates the more improvisational approach the band would adopt. This LP captures the band as they evolve from a straight blues band towards something more innovative. All tracks recorded at Congresgebouw, The Hague on 28.02.69 for Dutch TV, except side two tracks three to six recorded at Njardhallet, Oslo on 03.11.69. Despite careful remastering, the tracks from The Hague tend towards the trebly; the Oslo tracks are of better quality but are not soundboard recordings.

2020 repress. By 1970 Fleetwood Mac were immensely popular, touring constantly both at home and abroad. In February 1970 the band rocked Boston's legendary Boston Tea Party playing three amazing concerts there for three consecutive nights in a row. The performances were recorded in hopes of releasing a live album but front man Peter Green soon announced his decision to quit the band and the masters were promptly shelved. These recordings -- eventually trickled out onto a few albums during the 1980s but with consistently poor sound quality -- were finally remixed at SRT studios in 1998. Four-LP "book style" collector edition.

This early archive concert of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, before Danny Kirwan, is one of the earliest existing live recordings of the band, recorded on April 27, 1968 at a concert given at the Polytechnic of Central London, just a few months after the release of their debut album. Here the band's heavy blues influence dominates their sound as they play through a set of mainly blues covers, many of which do not appear on any other recording. Gatefold 180 gram LP with bonus CD of the album.
