"The Residents are an American art collective best known for their over 60 studio albums that were recorded over a period of over forty years. They also created some outstanding multimedia works, mainly three CD ROM projects and ten DVDs. Working as an anonymous collective, their identities were kept secret until in 2017 Hardy Fox revealed himself as their primary composer. Hardy died in October 2018, but the group continue to record and perform. In 2021, the band wanted to depart on a European tour called Dog Stab! but the Covid pandemic put a halt to it. 2022 wasn't any luckier, but early in 2023, The Residents finally made it to Europe stopping in Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Dublin, Oslo, Berlin, Vienna and many others. The concert presented here is the show at Kampnagel, Hamburg. The tour now offered a wider retrospective of The Residents' work, with less emphasis on Metal, Meat & Bone and Duck Stab! than had been seen in the earlier Dog Stab! shows. Instead the concerts focused on the Duck Stab material, with an additional greatest hits part thrown in for good measure. After the tour, The Residents parted ways with their long-time collaborator, guitarist Nolan Cook. Although Cook was planned to join the group on a UK/Europe mini-tour of their theatrical show God In 3 Persons: Live! in April 2024, those shows were ultimately cancelled, leaving the last date of the Faceless Forever tour as Cook's final performance with The Residents."

"Originally released in 2002, Demons Dance Alone explored The Residents' response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, primarily through contemplations on denial, loss and grief. A modern masterpiece among the group's extensive body of work, and packed with songs that have continued to endure, both in reworked studio and live form. Never before released on vinyl, this edition finally meets public demand. Presented in restored original artwork and picture inner sleeves."

"Black vinyl. The classic 1992 20th Anniversary album, which saw The Residents rework lyrics, melodies and themes from their entire back catalog into an album of new tracks, on vinyl for the first time. Includes an insightful new essay by Jim Knipfel. Celebrating twenty long dreary years of obscure stardom. In 1992, The Residents pondered their 20th Anniversary. A best-of collection had been proposed, and the group gathered together to draw up a potential tracklist. All was well until one of the Eyeballed Entities, unconsciously expressing something none of them had been able to verbalize, threw up on that tracklist. Once the dust had settled, somewhere in there, amongst the resulting soggy mess of vomit, paper and ink, The Residents noticed the proposed best-of song titles had congealed into a collage of new, never before heard tunes. 'Kick A Cat' and 'Picnic In The Jungle' had become 'Kick A Picnic', whilst 'Amber' and 'Six Things To A Cycle' had become 'Six Amber Things'. This was it! Inspired by the rather repulsive mess that sat before them, the group chose to take the entire episode as a sign, and began recording collages of select tracks from their back catalogue as instructed by those soggy scraps. What better way to celebrate twenty long dreary years of obscure stardom and sacrifice a few of their own sacred cows at the same time? Never before released on vinyl, The Residents now present Our Finest Flowers."

Working as an anonymous collective, their identities were kept secret until in 2017 Hardy Fox revealed himself as their primary composer. Hardy died in October 2018, but the group continue to record and perform. Sam's Enchanted Evening is a theatrical performance by Randy Rose, lead singer of The Residents. It was performed between October 2011 and March 2012 in Berkeley, California and New York City. Rose's only companion on stage was long-time Residents collaborator Joshua Raoul Brody on piano. A one-man cabaret performance consisting largely of re-interpreted renditions of popular songs from the mid-to-late 20th century, interpreted by Rose in the guise of 'Sam the Stranger,' it was the first Residents-related performance piece to be credited to an individual member of the group."

"Featuring a breathless collage of toe-tappers, memorable melodies, instrumental experiments and guest performers (Fred Frith, Chris Cutler, and XTC's Andy Partridge among them), the record has since acquired legendary status among both fans and confused onlookers alike. Alongside the original album, this double LP edition presents the 'COMS 1-3 RDX Suite' -- a brand new interpretation of (almost) the entire album, produced by the group using the original multi-track tapes -- and a brand new sleevenote essay shedding new light on the album's production. Commercial Album is the latest in The Residents' extensive ongoing pREServed series -- expect more throughout 2023 and 2024. Possibly even 2025 too, the way things are going."

"The legendary 1979 album remastered from the original tapes. Formed in the early 1970s, The Residents have now been charting a unique path through the musical landscape for 50 years. In celebration of that remarkable and unlikely anniversary, Cryptic Corporation presents an expanded vinyl edition of the classic 1979 album Eskimo. Perhaps their best-known album -- certainly the one which introduced the classic eyeball head image -- Eskimo saw The Residents explore the myths, legends and music of the native tribes of the northern American coastline and tundra. Released following several years of the group travelling into the Arctic to make field recordings, record with (and learn from) the natives and soak up as much of that atmosphere as they could cram into their suitcases, the album and its mythology (not least the long delay preceding its release) cemented The Residents' reputation as the weird anonymous band with eyeballs on their heads it was OK to like (long before everybody was doing it). Presented here with an accompanying RDX mix produced by the group using the album's original multitrack tapes, this double LP edition both celebrates the original LP and, through an extensive new essay by the group's mysterious archivist, sheds new light on its production. A must for fans and collectors, and perhaps a first-time opportunity for anybody who's been waiting over 40 years to finally give it a listen. Eskimo is the latest in The Residents' extensive ongoing pREServed series. Includes 12" X 12" booklet, as well as the previously unreleased 'Ice RDX Suite' (taken from the Eskimo multi- track tapes), plus contemporary demos and rehearsal recordings."

"In 1978, as The Residents' star ascended, Ralph Records excavated the group's 1974 X Is For Xtra tapes and reprocessed them, eager for a new release to satisfy the growing market for product. Whether or not The Residents themselves were involved in this process remains the subject of debate (spoiler: they weren't. Probably), but the end result, Not Available, was, and still is, a masterpiece. Along the way, Ralph produced a shortened, work in progress 'demo' of their efforts to present to The Residents (who ignored it). Previously unreleased, that 1978 version is heard here for the first time, just as it rolled off the tapes."

"Formed in the early 1970s, The Residents have now been charting a unique path through the musical landscape for 50 years. In celebration of that remarkable and unlikely anniversary, we present an expanded vinyl reissue of the classic 1978 album Not Available. Among the band's extensive back catalogue, one album sits alone -- composed in accordance with the group's Theory Of Obscurity in 1974, Not Available (or X Is For Xtra - A Conclusion as it was originally known), and the saga that surrounded its release, comprises perhaps the most truly 'Residential' work the group ever produced, and remains their most intriguing album among fans and critics alike. Now, almost 45 years after that saga unfolded, this set explores and expands the classic original album with those 1974 X Is For Xtra recordings which were adapted, edited, remixed and reprocessed into Not Available by Ralph Records in 1978. A perfect 'before and after' companion set, and an unprecedented insight into one of the most mysterious and mythologized recordings of the 20th Century. Remastered, expanded, and pREServed for future generations -- this is The Residents as we've always wanted to hear them, and the latest in a series of archival reissues that will continue throughout 2023 and beyond."

"Take a trip into a brief but aborted Residents space opera that never was. Long forgotten by the group until they recently revisited the 'Duck Stab!' multitrack tapes, and inspired by a late '70s fad for all things Germanic and Kosmische (best realized on the classic 'Krafty Cheese'), 'Duck Kosmische' represents the beginnings of yet another Residents project which burned brightly and briefly but, ultimately, never really went anywhere."

"Compiling the legendary Duck Stab! EP with another side of similarly themed ditties, The Residents' produced one of their best-loved works during the punk rock explosion of 1978 -- the album has remained a cornerstone of their remarkable body of work ever since; and has recently been featured heavily on the band's 'Dog Stab!' tour. This expanded edition includes the 'Shitty Rock 'N Roll' RDX suite (a reworked and remixed suite produced by The Residents using the album's original multitrack tapes) alongside related bonus tracks, all packaged within the album's long out of print original sleeve artwork. Produced with The Cryptic Corporation, remastered by Scott Colburn and complete with insightful new sleevenotes, this set builds upon The Residents' ongoing pREServed reissue project, which will continue into 2023 and beyond."

"'Beyond The Valley Of A Day In The Life' is a sound collage consisting entirely of The B*****s samples, created by The Residents in 1977 and first released as the A-side of the single 'The B******s Play The Residents and The Residents Play The B*****s'. It is accompanied by The Residents cover of The Beatles' instrumental 'Flying'. Alongside their 1976 album The Third Reich 'n Roll, it is often considered to be one of the earliest commercially released examples of what is now known as a "mash-up."

Blu-Ray version. "Presented from the point of view of Mister X, the quintessential unreliable narrator, God In 3 Persons relates the story of his involvement with a pair of conjoined twin faith healers. As the increasingly improbable story unfolds, ending with Mister X's destruction of the mysterious Holy Union, the audience never knows how much of the dubious tale is fact, fiction or the fading reminisces of an aging Lothario. Operatic in its vision and profound in its implications, God In 3 Persons examines the controversial concepts of difference and diversity, while also passionately revealing the secret soul of gender identity. Originally premiered in 2020 at New York's Museum of Modern Art, the piece features elaborate projections created by world renowned video artist John Sanborn, as well as a live six piece musical ensemble and three additional live performers. This video of God In 3 Persons was shot at the newly remodeled and spectacular Presidio Theater in San Francisco and directed by John Sanborn; it was directed for performance by Travis Chamberlain; music director was Joshua Brody; primary designer was Leigh Barbier; the producer was Steve Saporito. The DVD and BluRay both contain bonus demos showing how portions of the God In 3 Persons material was developed for performance."

"Originally issued in 1998, Wormwood became one of The Residents' grandest, most ambitious and, ultimately, most rewarding projects. Featuring all of your favorite tales of chaos and carnage, incestual rape, brutality, murder, sacrifice, retribution, bloodshed and, of course, circumcision that made The Bible the must-read #1 best-seller it became. For sure, Wormwood finds The Residents on fine, thought-provoking form. Be warned, though -- The Residents DO NOT intend to mock or undermine the Good Book in any way. As ever, they come in peace, more interested in shedding new light than bringing about even more disharmony to a world already full to bursting on that score. Never before released on vinyl, this edition, finally, meets public demand. Remastered and resplendent in original artwork and inner sleeves featuring the work of the wonderful Leigh Barbier."

Early in 2020, the group was invited to perform their seminal album God in 3 Persons at the MOMA in New York. The Wonder of Weird tour was the second part of The Residents' Randy, Chuck and Bob Trilogy of live tours (following 2010's Talking Light tour), The Wonder of Weird focuses on the theme of sex, with its lead character Randy further detailing the story of his life, now ruined by a sex addiction. Like Talking Light before it, The Wonder of Weird featured a stripped-down trio line-up of Randy Rose (vocals), Charles Bobuck (keyboards/electronics), and Lionel Bob (guitar). The group wear variations of the same masks previously featured in Talking Light, with the addition of Santa outfits and classic Residents t-shirts. Despite the Christmas theme in the costumes and set designs, the show began at the end of January (and ended in May). A running gag in the show is that despite being subtitled 'The 40th Anniversary Tour', it actually ended up taking place on the group's 41st anniversary. Before the band took to the road, demo versions of the songs were recorded - first in stripped down version, later with added vocals and guitar. Many of the songs made into the final show, some didn't. We are happy to present this second set of demos as well!"

"The Residents released Duck Stab! as a seven inch EP in 1978. For the group, the EP represented a break from the much more experimental Eskimo recordings which consumed the majority of a four-year period from 1975-79. To everyone's surprise, the EP was a hit, selling 50,000 copies in a few months. The demand was so high, that Ralph, the groups label, insisted the band to record a second EP, Buster & Glen, which they paired with Duck Stab! to make an LP, which was also quite successful. In order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary alternative TV show Night Flight, The Residents created a program based on a live version of Duck Stab!, which the band was already rehearsing as part of their upcoming 50th Anniversary Tour Dog Stab! Duck Stab! Alive! was recorded live in the studio over three days from May 19-21, 2021 at the 25th Street Studio in Oakland, CA. The stunning results in sound and vision are contained in this limited edition boxed set. This boxed set is a custom made 10" high quality box with a DVD Nest. The package includes two 10" LPs and a DVD Digipack with a 16-page booklet featuring a short story on Duck Stab along with full color images from the show."

"The infamous Wormwood project preserved across nine cds -- over 40 previously unreleased tracks. As the second Millennium AD drew to a close, The Residents began to take stock on a couple of thousand years of reasonably fruitful human endeavor. One text, they felt, had inescapably set the tone and dominated the narrative throughout the Western world for most of that period, often clouding the view as they looked back. Sure enough, The Bible, Testaments Old and New, seemed like fertile ground for a confused, anonymous band approaching their fourth decade. Throughout 1998 and 1999, The Residents set about writing, recording and extensively touring a set of songs based around some of the more curious, unsettling and downright messed up stories they found upon revisiting their old Sunday School Bibles, and present here the results of those industrious years. Complete with demos and sketches, two full live recordings, a live-in-the-studio reworking and the usual assorted ephemera plus later live recordings, The Wormwood Box showcases a project the band still think of very fondly, and have often revisited. Join us and marvel as the Eyeball Oddballs somehow cram murder, rape, incest, vengeance, slaughter and, erm, circumcision into a radio friendly pop format! Spread across an inescapably unwieldy nine CDs at the group's insistence, The Wormwood Box is the final, definitive word on The Residents' Millennially-challenged adventures and explorations within The Good Book. Or so it says here. Remastered, expanded, and pREServed for future generations, this is the latest in a series of archival Residents' re-issues that will continue throughout 2022 as the band celebrate their 50th Anniversary. Look out for forthcoming deluxe vinyl re-issues of the classic 1970s albums, a brand new OST recording for a forthcoming film and further pREServed releases as the year unfolds. The Residents will also be touring extensively - why not go keep them company one evening."
