Among the many forgotten bands of the late '60s, few shine as brightly (and unjustly overlooked) as Singapore's own October Cherries. From Singapore to Belgium to Abbey Road, The October Cherries reinvented themselves again and again -- Truck, Col. Truck, Jade & Pepper -- leaving behind a trail of dazzling Beatlesque pop-psych. Originally released in 1974 in Singapore/Malaysia, Truck's Surprise! Surprise! re-arranged songs first released on the Cherries Dreamseller album and sounds like it could've been part of the '60s British psych era but filtered through early '70s production: melodic, Beatles/Badfinger-influenced English vocals, catchy songs, lush arrangements, fuzz and wah wah guitar, electric piano, and cool analog synth/Moog which gives the album a wonderful unique vibe. Featuring "Earth Song," included by the late Trish Keenan of Broadcast in her celebrated Motorway Mix. This was one of the earliest Guerssen reissues, first released in 2004. Out of print for many years, the label now presents a new, updated edition. Features original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve. Remastered sound in 24-bit domain. Includes insert with liner notes and photos, as well as download card.

This is a limited reissue of the sole album by Truck, a mysterious early '70s band from Malaysia. Featured in Hans Pokora's Record Collector Dreams book, causing a big stir among psych-collecting circles, as original copies are nowhere to be found. This is a real pop-psych gem with ultra melodic and catchy English Beatlesque vocals, a totally late sixties UK psych atmosphere, as well as awesome songwriting, great studio arrangements, moody orchestrations, fuzz and wah-wah guitar and great use of electric piano, keyboards and a weird analog synth-Moog which gives the album a wonderfully unique vibe. A must for all people into the more melodic psych-pop sounds. Think We All Together, Aerovons, Kaleidoscope (UK), Fairfield Parlour, Gary Walker & The Rain, Badfinger. No hype here, only top-level stuff. Fully remastered sound.
