Baris Manço, Factory, Merrell Fankhauser (Fapardokly, HMS Bounty), Barry Dransfield, Tree People, and Dave Bixby are some of the artists represented, and there's both vinyl LP and CD versions of most of their titles.

Here, main songwriters Bobby Belfiore and Tony Matura combine their main influences (Byrds, Velvet Underground, Monkees...) with a good dose of '60s pop-psych and sunshine pop. Part-time farmer/musician Oliver Chaplin is the person behind one of the rarest private pressings from the UK. His cult masterpiece Standing Stone was recorded in early 1974 at a remote farm in Wales, using a portable 4-track TEAC reel-to-reel machine. Helped by his brother Chris at the controls (an experienced BBC engineer who had worked on Syd Barrett sessions), surrounded by animals and "smaller winged creatures", Oliver sang and played acoustic and electric guitars filtered through tape echo, distortion and multi-tracking, creating a very unique sound, a kind of DIY mutant-psychedelic-blues (think Captain Beefheart) which sounded years ahead of its time. Despite the lo-fi nature of the recording, the sound quality is amazing and timeless. Only 250 copies of the album were pressed and it even caught the attention of the Virgin label, who were interested in distribution but Oliver finally refused their offer. Musicians like JJ Cale expressed interest in Oliver's music, inviting him to a jam session but in the end, Oliver decided he was not interested in the music business and left Wales to travel around Europe. He remains a kind of a mysterious figure and we're proud to offer a new, long-awaited reissue of Standing Stone, sanctioned by him. RIYL: Captain Beefheart, Syd Barrett, Roy Harper, Brian Eno, Robert Johnson, Magical Power Mako, Fresh Maggots, Comus, Tony Caro & John. Incudes insert with liner notes by Richard Allen and rare photos. Sourced from the original master tapes. "Few other musicians have been able to mix and blend folk, blues, psychedelia together as Oliver has managed to do" --Ricardo Martillos (Distorsioni). "Like a rustic, ramshackle mix between Electric Ladyland and No Pussyfooting" --Giacomo Checcucci (Pincopanco). "A truly remarkable record" --Galactic Ramble.

Recorded in 1969 at Marquee Studios but never released at the time, this is prime cut late '60s UK psychedelia by Please, the band led by the great Peter Dunton and connected to Bulldog Breed and T2. Dreamy atmosphere with cool organ, mellotron, fuzzy guitars, melancholic vocals, and well-crafted songs. First released by the Acme label back in 1999 and out-of-print for many years, here's a new vinyl edition. Taken from the original masters. Hard cardboard sleeve, liner notes. RIYL: Doors, Soft Machine, Pink Floyd, Tomorrow, Move. "In some parallel universe, Peter Dunton is held in the same high esteem as Keith West's Tomorrow or early Soft Machine." --Jack Hopkin (MOOF Magazine). "... a surprise stunner of organ-driven, hyper-melodic psych-pop that would feel right at home on Jagjaguwar or Sacred Bones today..." --Nate Rogers (Aquarium Drunkard).

Reissue, originally released in 1971 on the Triangle label. Excellent vintage hard-rock made in Belgium. Irish Coffee's sound was clearly influenced by Deep Purple or even Uriah Heep, with killer guitar all over and good use of organ. This has been considered as a key album in the hard-rock field since the early days of collecting, with originals fetching really some money. Hard-cardboard cover with original artwork; OBI and resealable sleeve; insert with liner notes and photos.

One of the rarest teen-garage albums from the US, originally released in 1968 on the custom Century label. A mix of fantastic original songs and imaginative covers. From garage-punk to moody folk-rock, beat and proto-psych. The story of Thus is not very different to that of many '60s bands that appeared in the US after the British invasion: four high school friends who decide to form a group influenced by the Beatles, Stones, The Who, Kinks, Yardbirds, Zombies, or the Byrds, ending up releasing a private pressing album. In the case of Thus, they were four friends from the tiny town on Victor in New York: John Johnston, Don Corbit, Jerry Heukensfeld, and Barry Dalgleish. In 1968, they released their only album, All of Thus, on the custom Century label in an edition of just 265 copies. But there are two things that set the Thus album apart from many other similar garage records of the era: half of the songs are original compositions by John Johnston, showing a talented and versatile songwriter capable of moving from moody folk-rock/teen-beat to garage-punk and proto-psych and the other half are cover versions (typical of such garage albums) but done with an unusual strong personality and imagination. These include their superb rendition of Bacharach's "Walk On By", a punked-out cover of the Zombies "It's Alright With Me" and more. The All of Thus album went unnoticed until 1993, when it was unearthed and reissued on vinyl by the Rockadelic label. Long out of print, Guerssen Records present a new reissue with newly remastered sound, original artwork and insert with liner notes by Mike Stax, telling the story of the band for the first time. RIYL: Rising Storm, The Bachs, Fantastic Dee-Jays, Zombies. "One of my personal faves in the local moptop bag" --Patrick Lundborg (Acid Archives). "... regarded by many as one of the finest teen garage albums of the era" --Mike Stax (Ugly Things).

Restocked. Late '60s UK underground psychedelia full of dreamy vocals and organ by this group led by Peter Dunton and with connections to Bulldog Breed, T2, Gun, and The Flies. Featuring the original demo of the classic "No More White Horses", later recorded by T2 for their Boomland album (1970) and tracks like "Folder Man", sampled by Dangermouse for the famous "Going On" by Gnarls Barkley. Please were formed in late 1967 when singer/songwriter/drummer Peter Dunton and bass player Bernie Jinks had just returned to Britain after a period in Germany where they played as Neon Pearl. The first line-up of Please also included organist Jurgen Ermisch (of Neon Pearl) and guitar player Adrian Gurvitz (of Gun fame) but they left no recordings. In 1968 they disbanded and Dunton joined freakbeat-psych band The Flies, writing their killer "Magic Train / Gently As You Feel" 45. That same year the Flies split up so Dunton reformed Please along with Bernie Jinks, Rob Hunt (The Flies), and Rod Harrison (Neon Pearl). After the demise of Please, Dunton was in Gun for a short time and the rest of the band formed Bulldog Breed. In 1970, Peter and Bernie Jinks teamed up with Keith Cross and formed psychedelic hard-rock trio T2, releasing the classic It'll All Work Out In Boomland. During 1968-69, Please recorded a bunch of demos which were never released until 1996 when the Acme label first issued them on vinyl and CD as 1968/69. That was a major, exciting discovery for fans of late '60s UK psych and tracks like "We Aim To Please", "The Story", "Break The Spell", or "Folder Man" are now considered classics of the genre. Out-of-print for many years, Guerssen Records present a new vinyl edition. Hard cardboard sleeve; includes liner notes and insert with lyrics.

Lost-in-time, dreamy, mysterious sounding British psychedelia from the magical year of 1967, never released at the time. Demos were first recovered by the Acme label in 2001 and subsequently released as 1967 Recordings. Neon Pearl was created in 1967 by supreme drummer/songwriter Peter Dunton (The Flies, The Gun, Please, T2) with the intention of playing in Germany. Once there, they played a lot of gigs and were offered a residency at the Top Ten Club in Siegen. Their particular sound, mix of covers, original material (written by Dunton) and psychedelic improvisation, earned them local cult status. After some line-up changes, the band regrouped in London as a trio: Peter Dunton on drums/keyboards/vocals plus Bernie Jinks (Bulldog Breed, T2) on bass and Nick Spenser on guitar. This line-up recorded some studio demos, featuring tracks like "Dream Scream", which was usually their final number in their live sets, where they extended it to ten minutes or more. With no interest from record companies, Neon Pearl split, giving birth to Please, another cult band led by Peter Dunton. Out of print for many years, this new vinyl edition comes with newly designed artwork. Taken from the original masters. Insert with liner notes and photos.
"The music of Neon Pearl is not about complication or extraordinary guitar playing ... Neon Pearl is about the steady redemption of warm fog, ethereal jangling guitars, dream laden lyrics and the altered state of consciousness it's able to bring on through an elegant deep and pervasive sedative drone." --Jenell Kesler

Guerssen Records present a reissue of Màquina!'s Why?, originally released in 1970. Along with Smash, Cerebrum, or Pan & Regaliz, Catalan band Màquina! were one the truly pioneers when talking about the underground Spanish psych-prog scene from the late '60s. Why? was their debut album, originally released in 1970 on the Diábolo label and housed in a striking surreal sleeve designed by band member Jordi Batiste. English vocals, wicked acid fuzz-wah guitars, Hammond organ, flute -- including the legendary self-titled track, 24 minutes (split in two parts) of wild psychedelic improvisation. Featuring Josep Maria "Tapi" Vilaseca (later of Tapiman) on drums, Josep Maria París on fuzz guitar, Luigi Cabanach on wah guitar, Enric Herrera on organ, and Jordi Batiste on bass/flute/vocals. Originally from Chicago, Haymarket Square released in 1968 one of the rarest vinyl artifacts from the US underground psychedelic scene: the Magic Lantern album. Originally conceived as the soundtrack to a psychedelic lightshow art installation, the album offers crude, dark, psychedelic rock featuring trippy fuzzed-out/wah guitars, male-female vocals and long tracks. Newly remastered sound, insert with liner notes, repro of the ultra-rare Baron & Bailey Lightshow poster. New repress in hard cardboard sleeve; OBI; resealable outer sleeve.
"Magic Lantern is as fine a display of American psychedelia as late-60s albums by It's a Beautiful Day and Jefferson Airplane. This will appeal to fans of the fuzzed-out guitar antics of Cream and Blue Cheer." --Dean McFarlane (AllMusic)

Lost and found studio recordings (1971-79) by US singer-songwriter Sid Bradley including some of the sought-after 45 sides released with his band Erik in the early '70s plus fabulous previously unreleased tracks. Pro-sounding sound, ranging from fuzzed-out psychedelic hard-rock to psych-pop and proto-power pop. A phenomenal and versatile songwriter (he has written hundreds of songs) Sid Bradley started to play in garage bands like The Cavaliers in the '60s and by the early '70s he was part of Erik, a group responsible for a couple of self-produced 45s, Child Of The Sea/Nothing Is Easy and Sometime In Your Life/Rebel Woman. These 45s were usually used for promo purposes and it was typical of Sid to load a few record boxes into his car and travel hundreds of miles, visiting all the radio stations, trying to pitch his music to the DJs. This one-man marketing operation actually worked fine, as Sid's music was played in radio stations across the eastern US, Canada, England, and even Germany. And some of his songs were reviewed in Billboard, Record World or Rolling Stone. You may be familiar with the hard-psych sounding "Child Of The Sea" as it has been included on several psych comps and it was also part of the Lodge 49 soundtrack. The flip, "Nothing Is Easy" wouldn't sound out of place on any Rubbles volume. "Rebel Woman" is now considered a proto-metal cult classic and it was recently included on the Brown Acid series. After the demise of Erik, Sid continued recording his songs using different musicians. Most of these tracks remained unreleased until a few years ago, when Sid, encouraged by the interest on his old Erik 45s, decided to remaster them and put them available on several digital only albums that caught the attention of mags like Shindig! Guerssen Records now present a selection of those tracks. Master tape sound and insert with liner notes by Sid Bradley and Paul Osborne (Shindig!); also includes download code."... a gifted singer-songwriter with a love for late '60s songcraft and the more muscular powerpop of '70s contemporaries like The Raspberries" --Paul Osborne (Shindig!)

Fabulous US hard-psychedelic album by Noah, recorded in 1972 but never released at the time. Expanded to a double set including the Sound Barrier (pre-Noah) sought-after garage-psych 45s plus unreleased demos, '67-71. Formed in the late '60s in Salem, Ohio, out of the ashes of two garage bands, the Markees and the Sound Barrier (of the legendary "Hey, Hey" 45 on Zounds), Noah consisted of Mark Scheuring (guitar, lead vocals), Larry Davis (drums), Paul Hess (bass, backup vocals), and Danny Hall (keyboards, backup vocals). In 1972, the band recorded in just two days a concept album titled Brain Suck at Cleveland Recording studios with engineer/producer Ken Hamann (Grand Funk Railroad, James Gang). Noah's music was dark and heavy, dominated by killer Hammond organ, hard guitar and powerful vocals. This is truly a major find for anyone into hard psychedelia. The LP sessions were never released properly (in fact a truncated vinyl edition with some songs missing and late Sound Barrier demos added was released in 1995 by Al Simones on his Head Records label, without the band's knowledge) so this is the first time that the Brain Suck album is released as originally intended by the band. Features the original Brain Suck album by Noah, as originally recorded in 1972. Also features late Sound Barrier (pre-Noah) demos from 1968 (which are killer, prime cut garage-psych with ripping fuzz and organ) plus the two Sound Barrier 45s from 1967/68 on Zounds/United Audio and a couple of cool previously unreleased Noah home demos from 1971. Master tape sound and insert with rare photos and liner notes by Plastic Crimewave.
In the words of Steve Krakow (Plastic Crimewave): "... it conjures the heavy, doomy vibe of Blue Cheer's 'Fruit and Icebergs' suite; the bluster of Sir Lord Baltimore (but maybe with Keith Emerson on keys); and a biker ferocity found on the Fraction Moon Blood LP. I'm also imagining Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly, or Vanilla Fudge on some bad drugs with a Mothers-like malignance."

A Place In The Sun is a vinyl anthology of Rubble/British Psychedelic Trip cult heroes Jason Crest, including a selection of their classic '68-69 psychedelic singles for Philips ("Turquoise Tandem Cycle", Black Mass", "A Place In The Sun", etc...) plus their unissued at the time studio recordings/demos. The result is a great British late '60s psych album, recommended if you like Tomorrow, Procol Harum, Moody Blues, Small Faces, The Move, The Who, et al. The origins of Jason Crest are in beat band The Good Thing Brigade. Originally from Kent, they made quite a stir in the London club circuit, supporting established groups like The Who and The Moody Blues. No wonder they caught the eye of en vogue producer Fritz Fryer (Open Mind, etc...) who got them a contract with Philips, changing their name to Jason Crest after one of their songs, "The Collected Works of Justin Crest". Between 1968 and 1969, the band released five singles and left behind a bunch of unissued demo recordings/acetates. Jason Crest's music run the gamut from brilliant psych-pop full of wah-wah organ to Mellotron/phasing fueled introspective numbers and even heavy acid-psych/proto-metal on the freaky "Black Mass". Sadly, due to lack of success and problems with the label and between the band members, the band split after releasing their last 45 in 1969. Vocalist Terry Clark joined hard-rock band Orang-Utan, whilst the remaining members formed High Broom (featuring ex-Mike Stuart Span/Leviathan guitarist Brian Bennett). In 1971, Clark, along with fellow Jason Crest members Derek Smallcombe and Roger Siggery, formed Holy Mackerel. Remastered sound. Includes color insert with liner notes by David Wells and rare photos.

Guerssen Records present a picture disc reissue of Baris Manço's Dünden Bügune, originally released in 1971. One of the leading Turkish rock musicians ever and one of the most influential, along with Erkin Koray, Edip Akbayram, and Cem Karaca. This is his first long-player, released in 1971 by Sayan Productions. It's a compilation of tracks taken from previously released 45s, plus the track "Lory" that only appeared on this album. Killer psych rock with strong Turkish flavor, this features Baris's all-time classics like "Derule" or "Daglar Daglar", as well as the brutal wah-wah flooded "Küçük Bir Gece Müzigi" with its infectious drumming that drives mad anyone searching for sampling stuff. Not to be confused with two different releases with the same name that actually have different tracklist and artwork, this is the real album as it was originally released. First ever picture disc reissue; edition of 500 (hand-numbered).
