"The grainy, haunted beauty of Jandek's early work went through many phases, never quite as varied and multi-faceted as the material on his 4th album, Chair Beside A Window released in 1982. The relatively wide range of Chair Beside A Window gives insight into the influences on the seemingly impenetrable Jandek sound. Hearing the blown-out harmonica bluster of 'You Think You Know How To Score' it's hard not to imagine it as the Jandek equivalent of a Dylan phase, however insanely translated. Most notable in terms of both variance and firsts is the standout track 'Nancy Sings', featuring the first time we hear an outside vocalist. This song, a sad and empty blues featuring stunning female vocals, could easily be argued for as the moment freak-folk was born. Nods to folk blues, early gospel and even some strange takes on group jams appear. The layers of intentions and emotional frequency are always a mystery, but the mystery is more colorful and relatable here than it ever was before. Vinyl for this album has been unavailable since the initial pressing and has been sought ravenously by collectors ever since. Working in direct collaboration with Corwood Industries, we're thrilled to offer this exact repress, heavyweight-vinyl edition."

The title of track three, "Will There Be No More Photos," prompts an interesting question: just how many photos does this guy have of himself throughout the different stages of his life? What will happen when he runs out? Miraculously, after all these years, this album cover is another winner: just in time for the fall season, we are treated to a handsome young Corwood representative standing in a yard covered in beautiful fall foliage. Looking sharp in a suit and tie, he looks ready for the prom -- or a funeral... And the music? Well, Jandek is Jandek. World-weariness, isolation and some harmonica.

Featuring Sam Coomes (Quasi) on bass, Emil Amos (Grails/Om) on drums and Liz Harris (Grouper) and Jessica Dennison on backing vocals. Pictured on the cover is a flower in a glass of water -- half full or half empty? Jandek's music suggests the latter.

57th Jandek release. No funk here, just more sparse acoustic guitar and a lot of particularly tortured, passing-a-kidney-stone-style vocalizing. Three tracks, with the last one, "Silent Wander," clocking in at just under thirty minutes. On the cover: the charming, Flowbee-haircut era Corwood representative adorned in flannel, in a classic hands-folded pose. The legend continues, now even hotly tipped by Mandy Moore.

Recorded live on November 19, 2005 at Gloria Kulttuuriareena in Helsinki, Finland. One 60+ minute track entitled "Sleeping In The Dawn." No vocals -- the first entirely instrumental Corwood release! Jandek's fragile piano playing is joined by Iro Haarla on harp. On the cover: the suave representative stands on a pier. Destined to be a Corwood classic.

49th Jandek release, and the final release of 2006. Cover art is the same re-cropped cover art as 2006's What Else Does The Time Mean?, focusing more intently on the red-haired adolescent. This CD contains such compelling track titles as "Completely Yours" and "Mysteries Of Existence." More plodding bass and world-weary vocals.

DVD version. Filmed live at the Arches in Glasgow, Scotland on 10/17/04. NTSC format, theoretically Region 0. Aspect ration: 4:3. As a viewer you get to chose: "Camera 1", "Camera 2" or the "2 camera mix edit." Wow. This DVD features the complete set from Jandek's historic concert in Glasgow, his first ever public performance. The group is a trio, with Richard Youngs on bass and Alex Nielson on drums. The "representative from Corwood" plays a black guitar, wears a black hat and sounds just right. The music is the same as the Glasgow Sunday CD, released one year earlier, but the visuals here are exceptional (in a basic "pro" fashion) and allow all sorts of new & vigorous insights into the Jandek portfolio. No bonus material, no Easter egg.

44th Jandek album, the 1st in 2006. A riveting, stark cover features a man in black standing in front of a castle. Bent, acoustic guitar grapples with signature fractured howls of later releases. Best song title: "In A Chair I Stare".
