"Fetish 69 are back again. Ever since the late 80s this peculiar name has graced a band that stood for an incurable love for burnouts, outcasts, freaks, and weirdoes. Slightly twisted guys themselves, frankly, the band has brewed up a scary concoction that includes industrial soundscapes, flickering video loops, and a singer who lets his obsessions run amok. In the early and mid-90s a new Fetish 69 line-up then discarded some of the experimentalism in favor of an all-out wrrrock assault that took no prisoners. On Geek (Doxa, 1999), all that remains from the days of yore are the perennial anti-social passions, filtered through a radically personal worldview. The music, however, has mutated and suddenly incorporates electronica. Dig this: the former full frontal assault unit now features grooves and jazzy bits, if you believe it! This daring developments amazes and attracts hosts of willing collaborators and leads to remixes that feature similarly inclined aliens from all the zones between doom dub and breakbeat noise such as Mick Harris of Scorn, Wordsound boss Spectre, Jim Plotkin, Tribes Of Neurot, and Mego's Pita. And now, here's Atomized Fetish 69's new aural exploration. The album brings a highly individual sound that breathes rock ('n' roll) and simultaneously pulsates in the spirit of the experiments that are conducted in the avant-electronica bars of Vienna, Graz, New York, and Berlin. The album closes with a cover of 'We Are All Prostitutes', by legendary funk-punks The Pop Group."

"How much is minimal? This question has being asked again and again to get things categorized. To make it clear, Monnbuggy are not minimal. These guys are rather the 'Post' of what the scene knows from the electronic pop and future dance of today. Moonbuggy are funky, funky as only a few electronic producers are able to be. They have been sounding authentic since the very first demo we got to listen to: no vocals, no chorus, no longrunning loops -- but groove -- jazzy melodies -- hooklines that you definitely want to be played again. We have named it Slacker Electronics since they do not give anything on party hypes whilst kicking the crowed better than a lot of those jet setters. People can feel good in between the Moonbuggy polars of rhythm and song melodies. The new album, their debut after a 12" and a few contributions to samplers, is something really special. It is a habit killer, a soundtrack, a travel guide or just a hard days night wellness tuner. They show us once again what is possible to be done with a bunch of analog keyboards and a few software cracks. And, there are hand played guitars and basses, another trademark of Moonbuggy. They try to play as much as possible live to make the playbacks worth using the name. Moonbuggy are telling stories, no long novel books, no rhymes -- rather short tripping tales with heavenly open ends."

"Platzgumer -- known as multi active musician -- has done a few hand full collaborations with several musicians at Son Montuno between 99 and 02 -- his home-based studio at the shore of the 3 country lake Bodensee. The result is an excellent electronica/down beat up to typically platzgumeresk dark funk dub tracks packed album cribbed with skills of likes such as Doc Nachtstrom (Mego), Superbonbon (Noise Product), Anne Laplantine, just to name a few. He processed in the new songs, whether based on pop gravity (Software) or dub deep diving (Feeling The Ice), the versatily quoted '80s on a very own level. Never he would get caught by their hooklines, rather gives their experienced influences space that can be honored. Moreover, Platzgumer steps on multi cultural paths never heard from him before. As a broadband producer he puts this time even house breaks on hip hop beats and tops the track by an Arabian vocal line (Chebba). What else to say? It is an offensive year of Platzgumer, and thus the album Software follows harmoniously to Platzgumer:Shaw which is obviously the new main project of him. In any case POP is spelled in capitals, but pronounced in Platzgumer's language."

"Celestial Up Front: Platzgumer -- enjoying highest international reputation -- clears up the various faces. New label, new releases under simply his name, new exceptional singer Catriona Shaw and above all a new definition of POP to be described roughly as future house, warmly abstract R&B, elektronica breakbeat funk. Platzgumer: Shaw is a self-confident expression of the producer's skills and ideas from 4 years inwoven with smooth, deep yet flying lyrics written by Mrs. Shawbird. Live they will perform as Platzgumer (powerbook/vocals) and Shaw (vocals)."

"Hans Platzgumer does not like the abstraction just to be among the so called innovative producers, yet to follow up his way back as musician it is a pure abstraction. HP Zinker was nominated for the Grammy, but Platzgumer left loathedly America. The German cult band Goldene Zitronen called him for creative input, Platzgumer (still band member) left Hamburg after a while. The Munich community around Disko B, Ultraschall and Gigolo became his new home. The releases between 98 and 01 have been dropped out under several names such as Cube & Sphere, The Seperator, Shinto and Queen Of Japan. 2001 Cut: Platzgumer -- enjoying highest international reputation -- clears up the various faces.New label, new releases under simply his name, new exceptional singer Catriona Shaw and above all a new definition of POP to be described roughly as future house, warmly abstract R&B, elektronica breakbeat funk."

"Their current album Intérieur/Extérieur, packed with postkraftwerkian-chansonesk pop pearls, has inspired several artists from the many and various European electronic scene to create an own rendering of Ming's sound goods. Without name dropping a line of great and innovative musicians contributed remixes that will be inscribed as 'Extérieur Remixeur' on full album length: Léo De Léonard (F/Musiques Hybrides), Treibstoff Recordings Feat. Marcel Janovsky (D/Kompakt) Barbara Morgenstern (D/Monika Ent.), Hans Platzgumer (A/Disko B/Doxa), Rework (D/F/Playhouse), Kante Feat. Peter Thiersen (D/kitty-yo) Turner (D/Ladomat), Pitchtuner (JP/D/Doxa) plus other ones. An effect gets infectious: The mystery around the two musical globe trotters (Frédérique & Nicolas) is the agility they have. Brussels is the port and from there it goes out into the European centers like Paris, Geneva, Berlin, Vienna where Ming knot and weave their universe. Let us say, Ming help up the long awaited new wave of Euro-Pop. It is the combination of cultural influences, the melancholy that does not despair but carries the energetic thrust of their music, the lyrics with depth (from Rimbaud to R.M.Fassbinder) and not at least the francophile wings and the electronically calculated German body Ming use to fly (musically) -- all that makes them irresistible for lots of us. One thing is a fact : should it be an infection it won't never be a trenddisease since Ming and all they work with move too fast and unpredictably."

"Pitchtuner -- that stands for: damned danceable music created on hard disk yet fully playable as band. This is rocking house and danceable bleeping, keeping the experience of band musicians in the heart as well as the future on the forehead. Pitchtuner got this latent feeling of exotic distance and not at least these guys have a very certain sex appeal. Pitchtuner music is not a stew, although they soak up their influences from several musical ports. It is more the jump out of the square of the style formats. The totally different cultural background complements the band's attitude. Pitchtuner is a band classically represented by drums, bass and guitar (+additional equipment). They rock but it is definitely not a rock band, and they urge to dance, however there is more than just a dance a go-go. At the end it does not matter how it is called since pop does not query set ups."
