This is the second full-length album from brother duo Andi and Hannes Teichmann. They Made Us Do It contains pure analog, dirty and sophisticated dance music, with a wide range of influences: from Chicago house to German psychedelic Krautrock, from skweee to minimal techno, from ambient to bass, from the first collaboration with their free-jazz daddy on saxophone up to collaborations with modern classical musicians. As live musicians and DJs, Andi and Hannes Teichmann have travelled around the globe, also becoming curators of the project BLNRB, where they brought together and worked with artists from Nairobi and Berlin. They produced a highly original mix of different styles and sounds on their compilation Kraut Und Rüben and were assigned by The Goethe Institute to represent the German electronic scene in numerous countries -- a journey which took them to Algeria, through China, South Africa, Kenya, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to Afghanistan. In all these countries, they were not only giving live and DJ performances, they also held workshops and actively sought out local art and music contacts and built networks. Since their first album, The Number Of The Beat (DB 149CD/LP) in 2007, the Teichmann Brothers have been exploring new and unknown, as well as already-penetrated musical territories. The result of these experiments has resulted in this hybrid album, composed of many citations. Johnny Dangerous aka Foremost Poets raises his voice on a Teichmann remix of "My Nenita/Not Asleep" (originally by Fran Bareth). DJ Tijana T from Belgrade turns more knobs and sings on "Hangover With Me." A duet from the Philippines duo Rubber Inc. turns "The Faketory" into a cosmic disco-rave Western to which Uli Teichmann donates an energetic sax-solo -- it is worth mentioning that this is the first-ever collaboration of father and sons on one record. Composer Leopold Hurt plays arpeggio on "Different Brains," accompanied by The Happy End master of chords, Benni King, with his infamous Circle of Death effects. Cellist Mathis Mayr from Ensemble Mosaik and baritone Alois Späth divert "Auf Dem Wasser" into a crossover between Ennio Morricone and Aphex Twin. Over all of this, Teichmann pour out a magnificent torrent of sci-fi, space-techno and disco.

"Eltron is back! Here comes his follow-up EP to Wirefall, out on Festplatten. On Its My Muse, Eltron continues to develop his own style: still loving Chicago, still loving minimal and combining this with an organic, partially heavy, yet sexy funk. Eltron uses few elements and paints these, as if the dancefloor is a canvas. His tracks feed off the right moment at the right time and doesn't let them fall apart. 'Itsmy' starts of with a short 1:30 min a capella intro: a voice lets you know 'it's my floor' and when the bass drum kicks in there is no use in protesting. 'Muse,' a track that sounds like an upcoming thunderstorm during a hot summer: electrifying percussion draws you into dark spaces which are threatening and warm & beautiful at the same time. Dave DK has developed this basic mood into a magnificent, acoustic film in his 'Endless Summer' mix: it's summer, we're dancing as the sky starts getting darker and darker, but we keep on dancing and let the warm rain come down on us and wait for the first lightning to hit. But suddenly the sun finds its way through the dark cloud cover. Maybe we got lucky this time? We'll see."

"For many DJs and friends of Festplatten, Hannes Teichmann's 'Jäger' is the one of the most timeless tracks and the secret Festplatten hit. For this reason, a remix EP was planned for a long time already, now it's finally done. Two Jäger fans sat down to remix this piece -- Sascha Funke and Dave DK -- and Hannes also treated himself for a new version. We say: all three did a excellent job and brought to us a marvelous EP. While all three's patch definitely is the dancefloor, they all have quite a different approach: Sascha takes the 'Jäger' down from his stance and talks him into a lovely battle with no escape. Dave relies on experience -- sight, aim, squeeze the trigger, while Hannes slowly sneaks up from behind and hypnotizes his victims."

With remixes by Hannes Teichmann, Ada & Dubmasta. "The first remixes of Andi Teichmann's autumn album, Fades Side A begins with 10 loops, cut by Andi himself and featuring one loop from each track of the album. After that, the record continues with Hannes Teichmann's remix of 'They Don't Care.' Hannes calls it 'Romantica Mix' and romantic it is. He takes the original, featuring Hans Forster's fantastic voice, deconstructs the individual sounds and chords and rebuilds them around bass and cotton. The first track on the B-side is an Ada remix of 'Tape.' Having chosen 'Tape,' Ada uses another track with vocals by Hans Forster. While the original is pretty down-beat, perhaps comparable to the tranquility and dream-like quality of Air's music, the remix has its feet firmly on the dancefloor. You can distinguish Ada's personal touch, but still hear the heartbeat of the original track. Everybody who maintains that 'there is no soul in electronic music,' should definitely take a listen to this. The second remix on the B-side is by Dubmasta from Kiev. He's part of Foa Hoka, one of the first undergound dub and electronic bands in the Ukraine. He has left his mark on the indie-ambient track. 'Endscapes' is transformed into a polyrhythmic trip through the Ukrainian underground. There are deep canyons of bass and high peaks to climb."

"As a DJ and part of the Fetton-/Rundlauf gang, Eltron has long been no stranger to Berlin nightlife. Somehow, despite having been spinning records since 1994, 'Wirefall' is his vinyl debut. But it was worth the wait, since as an experienced DJ he knows exactly what he wants: the three tracks, 'Wirefall,' 'Loadbalancer' and 'Patcheraser' share a love for old Chicago house, whilst in no way sounding old fashioned. Eltron joins with ease this original and honest energy with the state of the art vibe of today's minimal techno. He takes the sterility out of the current clinical minimal sound and gives it back the dirty edge of the old days. And it totally hits the spot... we've heard three of his tracks so far and all of them are already pressed to vinyl!"

"If sonic moths rave it up, there is a big bash... because if they get off the ground, they are nearly untamable! The little beasts are known from small studios, where the sound is reflecting on the walls, before it's arriving on the ear. Hannes Teichmann turned the table: he had a big party with his studio-mates linus brand aka 'The Bad Financer,' Tobe and his sonic moths. this is much better than to have the bugs munching holes in his tracks. So he created two tracks, with the typical hannes funk. And they don't only fascinate moths! Hannes loves to be minimal but also epic and even so his 12 minute tracks are ending to fast. Humans and moths want more, so he puts his acid tool kid on top: acidloops for every circumstance! So the party is unstoppable: on the ground, waterborne or airborne... everybody puts his hands and legs in the air and raves it up, as if there will be no tomorrow!"

"And here she is: my first solo CD Fades was created in the autumn/winter of 2004 with the finishing touches added this past spring. Initially I had no aim to publish these tracks and the idea to release them on an album only emerged towards the end of production when I listened to all ten tracks successively. Over the years my understanding of the word 'fades' changed and lost its connotation of vanishing love: a DJ mixer has a crossfader and a channel fader, sounds fade in and out and bam! All of a sudden fades were the life and soul of the party. So here are ten songs: often fragile and melancholic, somewhere between techno and indie rock, outlines and pop, with pathos and humour, at home with both the Siberian vastness and German narrowness, rooted in the high life of metropolitan Berlin and the dolce vita of provincial Regensburg. My brother Hannes plugged in the Moog, I unpacked my guitar and bass and my machines marched along with the tunes. Have fun listening!"

"For C 64 fans, this joyous shuffle track with with wailing melodies, firing gunslingers, creaking saloon doors and big beats... will be one of the summer's highlights for outdoor raves and parties. The production is stunning and will bring tears to clubber's eyes. The record is single-sided and limited. A big summer tune. 'A Cologne production for the summer of 2005'."

"Raumagent Alpha -- third take: it was quiet around our agent recently. But if you think he was being lazy you got it all wrong. Mr. Alpha was busy transforming his set-up into a live-recording constellation. Bored by the dry studio work he now records his tracks playing live in his studio. 'Mangoldrausch' transpires nothing but pure euphoria, machines going wild, rhythms pounding, oscillators vibrating, synths running hot and frequencies being bent in all directions. Drum machines are trying to escape the whipping snare drum but the Raumagent remains in control of each and every sound."

"On Heartcore Hannes Teichmann pours out not only his heart but also his second solo EP on Festplatten. The element combining his two solo EPs and especially the three tracks on Heartcore is this subliminal and minimal funk that never seems to want to leave. Still each track has its own face: A1-- 'Dr. Boehm' -- is a 12-minute trance-funk-epic that comes from nowhere, settles on a hypnotic organ melody and just becomes bigger and bigger until the huge break. The end of the break has been marked on the vinyl for those who are looking for less dynamics in their set. That way the 7-minute-prime-time- mix is already included in the 12-minute clubmix. The B-side starts with 'Tribute' and pays homage to the old Detroit heroes and a not unknown Scandinavian. In other words turning a minimal nation into a minimal world. The last track 'Bonus Beats' will be booming in loud cars and making DJs try out their scratch skills and freestyle raps. As always the EP is rounded up by three endless loops -- 4/4 kick drum, 2/4 snare and an 8- time-shaker."

"The two label operators are back with (three) remixes ... First of all there's 'Kommanda Acid Hop mix' for Mediengruppe Telekommander. This mix was so far only available as mp3 and on the promotional CD accompanying the 'Die Ganze Kraft Einer Kultur' ('The Whole Power of a Culture') tour. German rap with an Austrian accent meets acid and wild scratches. Paired with a dash of revolution an explosive mixture. We call it...acid hop! The b-side starts with a mix for the Bavarian indie-rockers Pelzig. 'Cecilias on the Run' is one of the best tracks on Pelzig's last album Drive Your Engine Clean, published two years ago by the Weilheimer label Payola. Previously unreleased due lack of money the Teichmanns unleashed this wonderfull rocker and you can finally rave to their spiced up mix. And last but not least the 'Faq Grambamboli Acid Hop Mix', kind of an 'Autoremix', as the two Teichmann brothers were already playing Moog and drums for Beigegt's original version. This mix captures the energy of the original while heading into a new direction: the angry rocking offbeatstomper morphs into a funky ravemonster with Bigegt singer Martin Haygis taking much pleasure in bawling at the listener. We call it...acid hop."

"A unique mixture of subtle beats and complete unpredictability. The warm and heavily syncoped tracks don't stick along the lines of functional constructivism but create their own natural universe. Leo is a fantastic dancefloor host. Not only does he take us by the hand to lead us through his musical labyrinth (microhouse meets Detroit meets Basic Channel meets Berlin) but also does he impress us with 8hour-livesets (!) From time to time..."

"Our star chef Markus Müller gets ready for second servings. He uses the same ingredients as for his Quattro Stagione EP but strongly convinces through even finer compositions. The full A-side track topped with 5 loops and two more delicious pieces on the B-side have our mouths already water when thinking of his next recipe. But before this meal gets cold let's get ready to mix 1 teaspoon trance, 2 cups of house and 3 kg of acid. Have a good meal."

"Beautiful and joyful spring techno by Pankananda and his guitar -- exclusively produced for Festplatten -- three heart breaking tracks, four loops and a couple of freaked out interludes... Spring is in full swing and our favourite punk Gabriel Ananda is in great shape. Sitting down on his veranda, takes his good ol´ acoustic guitar and plays... and loops ... and plays...and loops... and plays... and loops... and claps and bleeps and clonks and twitches...loving the beautiful morning atmosphere."

The full a-side 'Dreigang' and the b2-track 'Wuerfel' come with straight funky rhythms and hyperactive staccato melodies that will get even the most hypoglycemic ass shakin' and wigglin' over the dancefloor. The b1 'Schnipsel' contains sentimental shuffle grooves and offers alternative medicine with guaranteed healing while listening..."

"Our favourite rockers from Oh. have left the major label Virgin to finally jump on the Festplatten boat. With good reason -- they're bringing with them one of the fattest and most elaborated Festplatten records to date. Musically the electronic band Oh. have developed towards a consequently new direction: straighter than ever, 4 to the floor, paired with the organic band sound and a whole lotta funk -- welcome to the club. A big welcome comes from Mathias Schaffhaeuser, with his colossal stumpin' n chirpin' remix. A track all ravers have long been waiting for. The five lads around Raumagent Alpha and Phil Stumpf feel a lot more comfortable around the dancefloor anyway -- after a long way from seven years on rock'n'roll stages."

"Frankfurt resident Markus Müller made his first time appearance on our wir.zwei compilation (back then with the pseudonym Markus Jackson). For his debut maxi Quattro stagione he now prefers to appear under his real name. There are 4 pieces which bring together the Festplatten typical preferences in a charming way; in other words, the funk-metal of minimalhouse."
